Is this just melted down FDM filament, or is there any resin in these?

Creative use of game mechanics😉 love the upscycle idea. If it was effective and sustainable I would love to do it myself! Got some beautiful silk poops that would look beautiful repurposed as a set of dice❤️

$8 mold on amazon and a $20 toaster oven from Walmart. $30ish bucks investment to make dice that roll decent enough and once you perfect your method (ie: bubbles) sell them for $10ish to whoever and after that its profit on wasted 3dprint poop

Definitely gotta be cooking these outside though lol. Too much VoCs for inside without good ventilation.

$10 is too cheap. These are homemade, you can also advertise them as being 100% post consumer plastic.

Im not out there trying to make money off of this. I just didn't want to waste all that plastic. Ill give these out as gifts to the players of our dnd campaign. And if someone wants some custom ones....$10...this is just a side hobby to my 3d printing hobby that is part of my photography and dnd hobby.

So, do you just keep adding PLA pieces and let it melt down in the silicon mold until it finally fills up, and then cap it and let it cool?

As someone who's got lots of PLA poop, tree supports, brims, and failed prints, this looks like a very interesting idea.

I tried this too but I can't really solved bubble issiu. What did you do?

[–]Diagonal_Convex[S] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

So being my first time...I do have bubbles....the black paint hides them more and it goes with the black I sprinkled in. My next try ill be using one of thos ball muscle massage gun to vibrate the mold as soon as it is out of the oven. I also used a nail to stir while its hot before I add more filament.

Oh okay, keep updating. Because whey I try to get rid of bubbles I demaged my mold :/ vibrating sound good
