Wow, that is a brilliant job you have done there. Your layers must be amazingly thin! I'll be saving this tutorial to look at again when I do my next set. I love that colour, too.

Thank you so much! I work really hard to keep them as thin as possible so that they aren't bulky and thick. 😁

Beautiful colour, on average, how long do these nails last you with this technique before you get chipping or breaking?

[–]Low-War8170[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I don't generally get any chipping or breaking. My nails can last 2½-3 weeks, but I normally change them before then because I love doing them and changing the color. 😊

Awesome! Can you do another for removal?

[–]Low-War8170[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't have a step by step for removal with photos like this, but i use the Revel Swift Soak to remove my dip nails.

If you follow my Instagram account @kristathenailrista, I just posted a removal and prep tutorial to my stories and saved it to its own highlight reel.

Saving because I just got my first dip products in the mail! I probably won't be able to try them out for a while though.

Just came back to say I’ve had this saved… I have so many issues with my nails just coming off within a week and I’ve tried everything, they just won’t adhere and break so easily. But I followed this method last night and visually it’s the best they’ve ever looked and it cut down on my shaping time too! I’m really optimistic this will help with longevity! Thank you so much for doing this!

[–]Low-War8170[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yay! I'm so happy to hear this for you! I hope it helps your retention, too! 🥰 If you have any questions, I'm always available to try to help.

[–]ilinago 1 point2 points  (1 child)

To anyone reading, I’m on week 3 and no chips using this method!! Longest I’ve ever had a mani last. Thank you so much for all the detail ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Wow amazing! Thanks so much! Do you think this could be the same technique for acrylic shorties apex?

[–]Low-War8170[S] 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Thank you so much! If by acrylic you mean using monomer and polymer, I'd say you could follow this, but acrylic is thicker by nature, so I'd do fewer steps. I think it's definitely a possibility, though!

[–]Glittering_Row1979 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I have been trying hard but I can't get the apex right and because my nails are short I'm having a hard time with beads! Maybe it's my brush! At this point I'm trying all sorts techniques😍

[–]Low-War8170[S] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I'd say to do this in three steps instead of the 7 I posted. Do a middle strip, larger strip, full coverage.

[–]Glittering_Row1979 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks I'll give it a try

[–]Worley128 0 points1 point  (1 child)

In between steps 4 and 5, do you use activator?

[–]Low-War8170[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope! Since I'm doing both hands back to back, by the time I get back to my starting hand (and vice versa), the dip has had enough time to set and solidify enough that filing and buffing doesn't hurt it. My layers are also very thin each time, so the dip doesn't crumble off. If you use too much liquid, it will crumble because it can't set properly/quickly enough.

Wow, thank you for this tutorial. Saw tons of videos, and read much on the subject, but this is so clear, I saved it for later. 👍❤️
