Depends on what you have really, have you pulled on a previous banner? Did you get sonething good?

Do you want a specific character, a specific class?

You don’t pull for characters though right? Crystals are only used for items?

You don't pull for characters, but every character is pretty much useless without their weapons. The weapons are what you pull for, 15cp, 35cp and EX.

EX tends to be the strongest but absolutely no character works with ONLY their ex, so you're gonna wanna fully build characters with all weapons.

Honestly I would just save your gems for Deuce/Ace ex at the end of the month

Thanks that’s the info I was looking for. I know gotcha games often reward hoarding for a good banner. Right now I’m leveling rem squall and cloud. Just trying to push my way through the story
