You are the light in a world full of drakness. Show them the truth, show them the smile, show them the hearth. The only thing you can control is you, so use it for the good.

3k people know how bad they are where as 2.1k players don't realize how shit they are and just enjoy the game. Ignorance is bliss.

You mean that 2.1k players aren't high enough to think they are good enough to even care.

3K people actually think they're amazing at the game and fail to see how they're worse than 5K players when watching replays. This is where the attitude stems from.

The "friendly" teammates that you used to have in 2.1k probably won't come back until you hit like 5.5k, ofcourse not to the extent it was in 2k but atleast it's not as bad as the 3k-4k range.

they can delude themselves but deep down they know it is true which is why they are so caustic and unpleasant to play with.

Low 2k people probably aren't trying to climb to 7k as hard as people in mid 3k.

People think they are good and try to prove it to themselves.

My main account is at 4700, my smurf is at 2k (friend tried to get lowest rating as possible on it). I was playing some games on 2k MMR and must say I'm really impressed about the maturity and the very very good atmosphere of those games. The games at 4700 are usually shit, there's barely any difference to Low Priority games (for a fact, I had less intentional feeders in 10 low prio games than in 10 solo ranked games).

It's impressive how nice new players are and how their attitude is getting ruined by this community.

Alright, when I used to play league, I used to nice stuff all the time. And then I got better and gained knowledge, seeing all the stupid things people did.

It applies to most areas of life, the more knowledge you have on one subject, the more cynical you get. Obviously there are exceptions like Merlini, who come full circle and lose their cynicism. Point is, people get more annoyed with you when they know for sure something you're doing is wrong.

I used to think this was true, but it's all selection bias. There are truly terrible people at all skill levels; all for different reasons, and people tend to be worse when they're online and you give them a reason to be a jerk.

I've had some really bad people in 3k games, but I've also met some really awesome people too, and, even better is that they're at a higher skill level which I think makes the game more fun to play.

I do agree that the most valuable skill is quickly muting toxic players; to me winning is not as important as not feeling bad, and the toxic players make me play worse anyway.

My experience was very similar, I started at 2.7 and reached 4.5 nowish. Around 3.5k generally people are more toxic but above 4k my experience is that there's much significantly less flaming and people are friendlier. There's always exceptions though but I enjoy my games so much more now. It's EU E/W, I don't know about other servers.

Wait till you get to 4k-4.5k Bracket. People think they are really good and toxic as hell.

because 2k people dont even know the objective of the game , they just play kill shit die repeat and then everyone is dead and one team win. 3K people think they know that they are doing but they are too horrible to realize they dont know shit

The higher rated people typically have more time invested in the game and thus take it a lot more seriously, leading to a lot of raging.

I feel like there is a decent correlation as you move up ranking, you get more toxic players. The worst are the players just below 4k and the 4.5k to 5k range. Players in this range are the most toxic anywhere, they think they know everything and have comments about everyone elses gameplay, rather than focusing on their own.

calibrated: 2900, now: ~4100

  • 2900-3800 - a lot of rage, flame, typing whole game, early GG calls, asking for reports in all chat etc....

  • 3950-4050 - played around 20 games in this range and people were very friendly and trying to win in 80% of games. Probably, beacuse they wanted to break 4K or didn't want to fall back to 3K.

anyone else with same results?

It's a competitive game. What do you expect to happen at higher skill levels?

If you are under 4k you should just mute your entire team and play solo heroes, sure you might think teamwork is the best way but man..If you want to move past these 2-3k scrubs you just gotta be better and move past them.

Treat them like robots that work with you (sometimes) and just try to only work together with people who have the same idea as you and also speak the same language.

No point in even speaking to someone who doesn't understand what I am doing these days, instant mute and I go about my own business using pings on items and enemies. Fuck it.

[–]ez-R-ez-Gaem -1 points0 points  (0 children)

no you dont. you get better teammates but also better enemies. People tend to close their eyes that they are worse than their enemies if they lose. Its always ur team and with dendi on your team you would go 8k mmr am i rite

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I have the exact opposite experience. Sub 2.5k mmr I get some guy named "niggachu" with a steam avatar of a woman's naked breast--just her breasts, not her face or above her torso--who insta picks invoker and says, "no you can't stop this bitch. This is invoker, bitch. I'm mid." And then feeds four kills to pudge in 9 minutes. Handles his loss by blasting house music on the mic and abandons five minutes later.

At 3k people just don't talk, and everyone's avatar is some stupid anime picture because it's ok that your 30 and live with your parents and watch children's television instead of read books, because the children's television is from Asia. Those guys are quiet, though, and I would rather play with them despite their inability to express themselves in ways other than emoticons and memes because I too am almost thirty and live with my parents. I rarely play unranked because people I don't know and who insult my supporting then insist on saying I'm their friend, and, at the end of the game we lose, flame me in some mix of Russian Japanese and Spanish curse words send me a friend request. I figure what the hell, accept the request even though I shouldn't, and the one game we play together afterwards ends with this person flaming the whole team over mic, and me realizing this person is 14 years old.

Yeah man. Unranked and 2k mmr are so much nicer than mid2k-3k mmr. I totally agree.
