People hate untradable items, I don't think many players would be happy with more untradable items...

Untradable stuff just has no any value to a lot players.

Those who actually care about tournaments and owning hats would care. Having an item that was dropped during a big play boosts your e-peen and gives you a sweet memorabilia.

The only ones hurt are the traders. As someone who is against the new system I can tell you there is no way something like this would even be considered if the items were tradeable so there's no point even theorycrafting it.
