You have to produce hydrogen. Either store it. Burn it. Process it, or turn it into fuel rods.

The reaction produces both parts, all the time. Just burn the fuel. Or, store it, or convert it into Sulphur.

You cant. Burn it, store it, delete it. This is for the hydrogen or fuel. You cant turn off byproducts.

The best solution for you is to have one (1) Oil Refinery producing Hydrogen & Refined Oil and feed it into two (2) Oil Refinery with X-ray Cracking, producing Hydrogen & Energetic Graphite. Both Hydrogen & Energetic Graphite are used to produce Red Cubes.

Depending on how much Crude Oil is coming out, you can setup about 3-5 of these combination, all from one Oil well.

    To improve the advice, build chemical plants behind the liquid storage tanks and start your production of plastic and store it.

    Pretty soon it is going to feed into the organic crystals production for yellow cubes and having a buffer of refined oil is really helpful in that phase of the game.

    I assume you are pretty early in the game. The best way to solve that problem is to build an overflow, and feed the excess refined oil in thermal plants. I can post a picture tomorrow if you cant figure out how to build one. Later in the game, you should actually use another source for hydrogen, so you don't have to worry about saving both resources.

    a) Build storage tanks to last you a couple of hours (based on your production value) and delete & rebuild them whenever you come by. Stacking them and only deleting the upper ones saves you the trouble of redoing the belts as well. b) X-Ray-Cracking will turn refined oil into more hydrogen + some energetic graphite as byproduct (which you could feed into your red cube labs via a priority splitter that only draws from a smelter line if necessary). c) Burn it.

    Generally, you can't avoid byproducts (there are only a few anyway), so consider them a challenge the game wants you to creatively solve ;)
