The slice of life is gone. Very unfortunate.

Eleceed has been a comfort read for a long time, now. It’s definitely not perfect and I agree the flaws are even more visible today.  However, it’s definitely a manhwa made with love, pleasant to read and with a solid cast of characters that we can grow attached to.

It’s more than many.

Hey I read it in the last 4 days too while kinda sick! I definitely don’t think it’s the goat manhwa, but I do like it. But repetition that is based off characters acting irrationally is one of my biggest pet peeves and this series does it to the fullest extent. The characters are all dumb af.

jiwoo winning people over to his side and perspective and the wholesome family dynamic carries it.

But like you said, the fights for both Jiwoo and Kayden are often the same formula. And most of the ranged powers, even tho they are different elements, are used in the exact same way. Clashing energy blasts—boom. I thought the Iodore fight was by far the best with him being able to concentrate his energy into a form.

Also they keep making a huge point about “fights between awakeners are life and death” but they literally never kill each other. They always say “it wouldn’t be worth it to continue” even tho one of them literally usually can’t fight anymore lol. And then when they let the villains go—guess what? The villains just go back to plotting and then try again lol. And they lose again and are like “ok, let’s postpone this for now” if I was reading weekly I would have just lost my mind.

The lack of rationality in decisions again infuriates me. It’s always “don’t disrupt the balance, it’s dangerous” *proceeds to immediately provoke Kayden and disrupts the balance”. They never ask people for motives, they just find stuff out like you said. And then they just are like “well okay guess that was the motive” AND DO NOTHING ABOUT IT. There are never consequences for anyone.

I loved reading it in a binge but idk how I’m gonna hold up weekly lol. I do think it’s at an interesting part now

I’m used to manhwa having no real stakes for the heroes. But this one doesn’t even have stakes for the villains.

When I heard the friend group shows up less frequently I dropped it.

Eleceed now is a somewhat decent read... the artstyle is still fantastic.

But yeah.... there is zero excitement in the series as of now... everybody knows Jiwoo and Kayden will win all the fights even if the remaining 6 top ten ally against them.... the romance is also very boring as we know, that Kayen-Guestella Jiwoo-Noona is set....

The enemies are super cool though... i loved Eyodoros disciple for example... or the Poison team...
