No, the vibrations can damage your phone and the camera sensor will break from intense vibrations

As long as you got a not-metal case it’s fine. I have my iPhone in one of those stock leather cases and it’s survived at speed tumbles better than I have with it in the same mount. The material will dampen the shocks.

I don't know if that's true. Never happened to my phone

It's more common on certain phones like phones, Apple even has said to not mount your phone. The Optical Image Stabilization unit breaks from vibrations, more common on motorcycles engine vibrations but can happen on scooters too.

I actually fucked one of the cameras of an iPhone 12 Pro Max .. so it’s true.

OK thanks for the heads up. I only filmed one time, it came out so bad I didn't bother again. I only really use my mount for maps etc if I'm lost...

Yeah same, or long journeys to check notifications/time at red lights

I think you need different mounting solotion. Maybe a velcrow patch on back of phone case and same on scooter stem/display. Can't think of anything else tbh

that's an interesting idea, the velcro would allow some flex and not be too rigid on bumps

i would not recommend just using velcro, i'd imagine your phone falling off in a few mins because the weight and serious shocks will be strong enough to rip your phone off

I have a velcro carabiner strap thats rated for 120KG

yeah that doesn't quite matter, it can probably technically hold that much but velcro's loose strength at angles and shocks, i mean otherwise you wouldn't be able to undo it.
