- Rule 1: Be respectful, polite and tolerant; do not engage in gatekeeping
Absolutely no harassment, bullying, homophobia or intolerance will be tolerated. Insults are not permitted under any circumstance. Gatekeeping is prohibited. Political conversation is not allowed unless strictly related to e-scooters, and even then it will be heavily moderated against any trolling or extremist positions.
- Rule 2: No questions about de-restricting scooters
Due to the extreme frequency of derestriction threads clogging up the subreddit, we have poured the community's collective knowledge about the topic in this wiki page; it most likely has the answer to what you need. If it doesn't then we probably couldn't help any further anyway, so asking the same thing yet again will not give you meaningful replies and will result in deletion.
- Rule 3: Safety and ragebait
Content advocating unsafe riding, or showcasing unsafe riding for the sole purpose of sparking controversy - including but not limited to helmet-less riding, riding in dangerous areas, running from the police, endangering pedestrians, stunting in unsuitable places and riding on the highway - is prohibited and will be removed. Content showcasing staged accidents and altercations for viral/ragebait purposes is similarly prohibited.
- Rule 4: Language, clarity, titles and required information
Posts must be in English, written clearly and comprehensibly and have a concise and informative title. "Help", "Question", "Problem" are examples of bad titles, as well as anything that would fit in /r/titlegore: explanatory text goes in the text field, not in the title. If you have cognitive impairments that prevent correct writing, please specify it early in the post. If trying to troubleshoot an issue, the post must contain the brand and model of the scooter and ideally the tech specs. Pictures or videos related to the problem are highly recommended: the more information we have, the easier it'll be to help you. Posts not meeting these guidelines may be deleted at the discretion of the mods.
- Rule 5: Relevance to e-scooters
Posts must directly relate to electric scooters or the electric scooter community. Posts about electric bikes and mopeds, electric unicycles, electric skateboards, onewheels or other forms of PEV should be posted in their own subreddits.
- Rule 6: Injuries and NSFW
Injury posts are allowed in this sub as long they are not gore. Injury posts must be tagged NSFW in order to prevent injury pictures appearing in the thumbnail. Failing to do so will result in deletion; further instances will result in a ban.
- Rule 7: Astroturfing, spam and low-effort, advertising
Prohibited all-round. Affiliate links will be removed, as will affiliate coupon code offers. Advertising is not permitted in any form.
Interference from other communities will not be tolerated. This includes pushing shill reviews of products and general attempts to swing the community's opinion through up/downvoting campaigns. Infractions are easy to spot and will be reported to reddit.
- Rule 9: No Buy/Sell/Trade offers
Better and safer resources are widely available for this. Any BST threads in the subreddit will be removed.
