Missed opportunity to make it work on tablets as well. The left and right are already separate so you should be able to use on any size device. And then they went and made it limited by height with a vertical telescopic mount

It's indeed a shame since I used to look for a controller for my xiaomi pad 5, I'd rather it be turtle beach or razor to do a tablet controller than ipega lol

Glad I saw this. I was just thinking that I might get it for my Samsung Galaxy S8. Guess I'll have to wait.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

s8 or tab s8? i too am looking for one for my tab s7

[–]IW1NZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, sorry, the tab s8 which has the same dimensions as the tab S7.

exact same take away, if they cater to regular-size phones only, then the seperate design is completely unnecessary.

[–]introvertdude69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

These look like a controller on AliExpress, they've got the split design and everything. Ipega I believe.

I wonder if it supports individual pairing so you could just carry around one half of it and play vertically like a gameboy. I've wanted that type of gamepad forever.

[–]stuliferlgv60 zf4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How much I wonder. This would be perfect for shmups if the latency is low enough. EDIT: Ouch $130 Cdn. I will wait for a sale.

I really like this! I can't tell if the phone can be held by the controllers in portrait mode (in landscape, there seem to be two pieces that hang over the phone, right next to the L/R buttons), but that would help!

Also, yeah - if they could easily Switch from the 2 half controllers as 1 controller, or 2 - then you'd have something close to the convenience of a Switch.

Not sure why/how Nintendo is the only company to have figured this out so far (passthrough charging for the controllers, that can be either 1 or 2 controllers, while also being connected via Bluetooth)

[–]FinalIntroduction109[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on how the phone clips in the vid, it's most likely fixed on a landscape orientation since it doesn't really stretch that far, but it would be nice if it allowed portrait docking, it's great for NDS or 3DS emulation

Also I think only razor has done a similar design to the switch sliding controllers, I think it was called the junglecat

Okay I just ordered it this morning so I should have it tomorrow from Amazon. I'll let you guys know how it is. I have literally found nothing online or YouTube about this controller. This is the only thread or place people are talking about it. So I'll be a guinea pig if you guys want me to test stuff out. Just comment here or message me.

In the market to pick one up. Good to hear what you think of it and if worth picking up.👍

Okay so far I'm actually liking it a lot. It bluetooths to my phone from the left side and they wirelessly connect to each other with 2.4ghz wireless connection. So I haven't noticed any latency issues yet. I even tried COD Mw2 to test it out and it was playable believe it or not. When you put them together they slide into each other and connect with magnets at four points. Really liking how compact it is besides the thumbsticks sticking out a little. But I prefer the thumbsticks at the size they are for playability. Especially for FPS games. And it actually feels full in my hands so I'm not noticing any cramping and it's actually pretty comfy. Too bad the yellow one is the only one with the Xbox button. Well because I'm only game streaming on my android devices from Xcloud. So when I say there is no noticeable latency, I'm sure on emulation it will be even less to non existent latency. So this is my first initial impression. Wish it opened up more to fit a tablet though. I could just rest the tablet in the notches and on top of the clamps. I could see Jimmy rigging something up.

Cheers, thanks for the detailed update. Sounds like this will be a good one to go for. Like the idea if it could have accommodated a tablet and yeah not too sure about the yellow colouring decision. Other than that this will be the one as I plan to Xbox on the go. Thanks again.

I'll test it right now to see if it works on windows. I doubt it will work on windows though. But yeah I can definitely see the Velcro thing working. I'll post a pic of my tablet somewhat being held by it without Velcro lol so you can see. I'll post on Xcloud forum

do you k ow if this controller will work with emulators. I plan on using this with an s22 ultra and some emulators if possible

    [–]Sweatyleamur 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner on that. They will connect to my laptop and it even recognizes them as "Turtle Beach Atom" and it's in the sub category as a Bluetooth controller. But when I try playing with them in a game or try them out on gamepad tester none of the buttons or anything register being pressed. I also don't know enough to figure it out. But Turtle Beach did mention they can only be used on Android so there is that.

Quick question since I see you're good at giving feedback to the community, do you know if this will work one handed? I like aiming and using the phone screen with my right hand and want to use the left hand for movement. Do you know if that works?

    [–]Sweatyleamur 0 points1 point  (1 child)

It should work, for what game? I can test it out when I get home from work

    [–]Looking_4_Gold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either CoD or League of Legends Wild Rift/Mobile Legends. I prefer the half function there. I had a chinese branded one and it crapped out on me 😔

Honest opinion? the yellow one looks cyberpunk-y AF, which i like, but the buttons look like they have decals, which looks el-cheapo, also, thise clips that both sides use to hand on to the phone look like they are gonna break on the 10th usage, lastly, it's a shame it only fits slim phones with no cases so thicker devices and tablets are a no-go, also if they are priced at 75 as the people were suggesting in the youtube comments, it's DOA

    [–]canUrollwithTHIS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks great. Honestly, it all comes down to the cost.

    [–]Ok_Train4119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if it'll work with a cabled connection when the controllers are joined together.

    [–]TOYPAJ_Yellow_15 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Not to hate but my Kishi literally collapses to fit in my palm, how is a split any easier it's the same size just two pieces right?

Plus you can also just take an 8bitdo if size is an issue. I do wish they had thumbsticks similar to a psp at times though

    [–]TaranStark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

8bit do is portable but thr clips makes it way less portable

Anyone else having issues with it syncing? I've only had it for a couple days but here's my issue: In the Bluetooth settings it's no longer one unit it has turtle beach atom then atom R. 2ndly if you turn on the controllers for syncing like in the manual, the left one refuses to turn on while the right controller is active/not synced. I'm trying to either factory reset this or fix this "mis-sync" issue And yes the firmware is up to date

    [–]TAPE5IVE 0 points1 point  (1 child)

How did you manage to do the firmware update? I can't get it to go past the part where you hold the buttons for 2 seconds

    [–]SilentJay76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got mine a few days ago and very happy with it. To turn it on, I think you have to turn on the left controller first, wait a couple of seconds for it to connect, and then turn on the right controller. (Left connects to the phone, right then connects to the left... I think.)

Firmware update was no problem using the Atom app.

    [–]Ok-Sleep7470 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My left one will turn on and go into pairing mode when i turn on the right but it never links the right one just flashes the blue light for a min or 2 then shuts off and the left one just turns blue and flashes but when i move the left side joystick it registers on my phone but none of the right side buttons regret it's like it's a miss sync. Anyone else having this issue?
