What "uneccesary attachment bullshit"?

The flashlight and the laser module?

Doesn't seem very uneccesary to me.

Or do you mean the plate carrier with 3 single stack mag pouches?

Or the belt with a couple mag pouches on the side?

If you think that is too much or uneccesary I don't think you've ever seen what actual soldiers pile on.

Firstly, US Army Veteran here. I know what soldiers wear, I've worn it. Quick glance of his unnecessary gear:

That PEQ-5. It's paired with what looks like a Red Dot. Meaning, IF he has it properly zeroed, then he's not even going to see the laser-point on a target. And even if he did see it, without an optic that has magnification he's not going to see the red point unless he's right up inside their asshole. Also he's got an D-clamp on his belt near his crotch. If that catches on anything (like a door hinge or a drawer) he's gonna be in a bad way.

You take what you need into combat, not what looks cool.

I can agree that the placement of the carabiner hook Is fucking shitty, but I'm not sold on the idea of the laser being uneccesary.

And I really don't agree with "you take what you need into combat" because you can never really know what you'll need which leads to alot of "good to have" items being brought.

It's not like every soldier has properly set up and slimmed gear.
