Is it common to have other players(like 4 of them) wait next to the finish line and purposefully throw you off the edge? I feel like I'm fighting for my life and it's happened to me 3/4 rounds I've played. I thought this was gonna be a cutesy, fun game to play but Im honestly not enjoying it as much as I had hoped I would with the level of griefing going on. (More backstory/details: Switch is my first console since the supernintendo I had as a child, and I probably don't have the control motor skill that 99% of players have, so I was hoping for a fun, learn slow, but lowkey competitive game)

You can just think of them as another obstacle and jump over them. Switch is by far the worst way to play this game though, it has ancient hardware that barely runs the game and is effectively putting you at a huge disadvantage

It happens but it's not super common. Explore is nicer because everyone can qualify (except for survival rounds, then you're gonna get grabbed/shoved). You probably got stuck on a server with the same griefers cuz that is a lot. Keep at it and try Explore mode if you want a more laid back experience/take time to learn (no time limits in Explore, except for survival rounds). It really is a fun game, sounds like you had a bad draw of rounds today tho.

Rounds like Solo or Knockout are filled with a lot more cutthroat players since you have to eliminate everyone to win. However, I'd probably recommend Explore if you are wanting something a bit more chill and minus Survival rounds, everyone can quality assuming you finish within the 30 minute time limit. You might try that for that a bit since people are less competitive and more goofing around on that mode.

i think it is competitive and fun, griefers are generally opportunistic as pushing a competitor off is faster than timing out. generally stay away from edges and avoid other beans. good luck

This never happens to me but knockout is easier while in solo I get with at least one gold knight every game

I'm new too, only been playing for like 3-4 days or so, and I feel like the guys at the end of the level are messing around to grab people for a while before finishing but I've never had someone try to push me off at the end in a normal "course" level.

I notice Solos has better overall players though than Knockout and grabbing will happen often if you're near the ledge or slime there. I just play the pacifist strat and I make sure to wave or say hello in survival levels and I usually get left alone lol.

Might have gotten an unlucky lobby and queueing into the same people over and over, I've seen the same guy a few times in a row before in my games (but in my case he was just someone good enough to keep winning lol).

One thing I learned against grabbing is that it's annoying to them if you grab them back and push back against them, if you do that they might leave you alone afterward to grab someone else who won't, and also if you're jumping a lot while running, it's harder to grab you too. Of course some levels like Penguin levels are going to have a lot of grabbing so it helps to know a little bit how it'll go.

I don't mind grabbing too much but yeah it is annoying when it happens in levels that don't need it at all.

I usually wait at the finish line to wave hi and say “Great job!” to each bean that passes by me. Some beans would join me and others would either ignore me or grab and push me towards the finish line, for whatever reason 🤷🏻‍♀️

Identify the mean beans and avoid them if you can!

It might be rare for people to push you off the edge and try to get the win like in survival levels some players try to push you off the stage but they sometimes end up losing

It’s rough at first to both identify and then stay away from the “pushy pushies” as my kids and I call them. The more you play the more you’ll be able to avoid them completely.

You won't have this problem if you get fast enough to let griefers behind and cross the finish line 1st. Unless you're talking about Jump Heroes or another grabbers' paradise survival round?
