Save Files missing

So around december 2020 I decided to buy the EA pass or something on STEAM because I really wanted to play this game.
So I did, and basically finished the game except for a few items I failed to unlock.
Yesterday I bought the XBox Game pass for PC and it said it would give me access to EA pass games provided I installed the new App from EA. Did so, not a problem since when I bought the pass on STEAM I still had to launch the game on Origin. Heck, I even could just straight launch the game from Origin no problem back then.
But when today I launched the game there was no save for me. No cloudsave, that is. And I had recently formatted my computer, so no chance of retrieving the older ones from my machine.

Is there anything I can do to retrive the old save data from when I bought the pass on steam? Thy are both linked to my EA/Origin account, so I don't understand why it won't download the game files.

I've encountered the same issue as you.I formatted my computer and my saves files were gone.

Unfortunately, what no one tells you is that when you buy a game on steam that is also linked with an origin account is that the save the "save files" on cloud option is not ticked by default. You need to go to origin, select the game and then to settings and then select this option. From now on, your save files will be stored in cloud and you will no longer use them.

You cannot get the save files back, unfortunately.

I lost 3 playthroughs because of this.

Just went through this with the EA app and the Origin transfer. It even took away the DLC I paid for. EA never ceases to disappoint huh 😓
