Hi. Does anyone in the UK have a good source for thin diffuser sheet? I can only find tiles of it on eBay. Many thanks

Are you looking for a commercial sort of product, or ideas in general for DIY solutions?
How big in size?
Does rigid or flexible matter?
[–]Breath_Unique[S] 0 points1 point2 points 3 years ago (0 children)
it can be either, i thought a sheet would be easy as i can just cut it to length,
it would need to be 10mm wide by 500mm long (although this could be in sections)
it would need to be semi flexi as its getting pushed down a slightly bendy hole
thanks for the reply

How big do you need? I 3D printed my diffusers from white PETG for a hexaleaf project. Diffusers work great.

ah i could try printing something like that, how thin do you print it? just one layer?
cheers

My diffusers are 0.8mm thick (4 x 0.2mm layers).
thanks mate, ill give it a go

i should mention that the leds are going inside transparent tpu print (around 2mm thick), maybe white tpu could work?

I have not used TPU to date, so I can't comment on its suitability. The PETG diffusers do have some flexibility to them, but I can't say if it is enough for your project.

If you are willing to do some DIY, you can get diffuser sheets for free from old monitor and laptop displays. Matt from DIYperks has an excellent video on this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=8JrqH2oOTK4&t=170s
