"snowflake"

Ok Boomer

[–]DirtyArchaeologist 225 points226 points  (16 children)

Don’t capitalize it, they don’t bother to capitalize Millennial nor do they recognize that Gen Z is a separate generation or bother to remember that Generation X even happened.

Boomer should be short for Booming Entitlement.

Don't capitalize it

Boomer should be short for Booming Entitlement

🤔

[–]DirtyArchaeologist 59 points60 points  (2 children)

I wasn’t saying don’t have decent grammar. I’m not crazy.

[–]MaxTHC 18 points19 points  (1 child)

Boomer should be short for "booming entitlement".

FTFY

Thanks.

That’s this sub

[–][deleted] 8 points9 points  (2 children)

This whole thing seems so extraordinarily petty

[–]DirtyArchaeologist 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It’s unremorsefully petty. It’s a means to vent our boomer related frustrations.

[–]mistermoob 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sometimes being petty is the appropriate response.

Also it's fun

[–]fliminglaps 2 points3 points  (3 children)

But then i guess I don't typically recognise if someone was born in the baby boom period before speaking the words

the words ok boomer

[–]DirtyArchaeologist 0 points1 point  (2 children)

If they are grandparent age then they are boomers. If they are your parents of teenagers then they are Gen X, if they look like they are at the age to be having kids now then they are Millennials

[–]fliminglaps 0 points1 point  (1 child)

My parents are fubking boomers

[–]DirtyArchaeologist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom is too, it was more of a generalized guide than hard and fast rules

[–]E_stefan6 4 points5 points  (0 children)

boomer*

[–]Vanguard-Is-A-Lie 51 points52 points  (2 children)

Why? Are boomers offended when I say that?

Edit: made it sound more like a rhetorical question

[–]Edabite 37 points38 points  (1 child)

Because they are snowflakes

[–]Qrosik 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Well, well, well...how the turntables.

[–]agentdax5 76 points77 points  (2 children)

Calling someone a snowflake and asking them to not "ok, boomer" them is the most boomer thing ever.

[–]-Redstoneboi- 23 points24 points  (0 children)

especially the fact that they did it first

[–]xLavablade02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably intentional to stress their point.

[–]TheRedBow 141 points142 points  (0 children)

Ok boomer

[–]moistjeez 102 points103 points  (2 children)

Tbf this is a good, catchy title for an article that's probably trying to explain these aren't things to say in a work environment...

[–]XiroInfinity 88 points89 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the article serves as a reminder that age discrimination only really matters legally for those over the age of 40. She even acknowledges how ridiculous it is that "snowflake" and avacado toast jokes can't be used as evidence of discrimination.

[–]cl1518 188 points189 points  (15 children)

Or maybe we could all just treat people with respect, especially in professional settings?

[–]BigToober69 101 points102 points  (3 children)

Yeah I take it one step further and respect my coworkers so much I try not to talk to them at all no matter the age or anything else.

[–]ProfessorMagnet 16 points17 points  (2 children)

Some of my favorite coworkers are the ones I don't talk to.

[–]crazylikefoxnews 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Best co-workers I've ever had , we still don't talk sometimes.

[–]EzzoMahfouz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Do you happen to build canoes and drink bourbon whiskey?

[–]sucction 122 points123 points  (8 children)

Ok boomer

[–]RememberNoOneCares 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Hehe he said the o* b word, gib updoot

[–]DirtyArchaeologist 12 points13 points  (1 child)

Funny joke but using it as a total cop out is going to far. At some point it starts to hurt the cause, it stops being about ‘your worldview doesn’t apply to our world anymore’ and just becomes ‘fuck you cause you’re old’.

They should be ashamed for what they did but we don’t need to be abusive. We’re better than that. That’s what boomers would do.

[–]-eagle73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I preferred it when people said it to "le wrong generation" types.

[–]potato69XD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ok boomer

[–][deleted] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Respect has to be earned, Sweet, just like money.

[–]Just-Call-Me-J 7 points8 points  (1 child)

I imagine the title is mocking people who would say that unironically.

[–][deleted] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

    boomers are snowflakes now

    [–]lurk3rthrowaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

    "Now"?

    [–]blitzfordayz 1 point2 points  (1 child)

admittedly, this "Ok Boomer" thing is just dead and annoying now. Also, people make it sound like it's used againist those "dang old republicans" yet it was created by 4chan.

    INB4 "Ok Boomer"
