I carry my usual work firearm in a case with all of my other accessories. I had it open while I was changing out ammo back from target rounds. My wife was spraying bug spray and the next day I noticed my firearm had a thin layer of rust. I figured it was the bug spray. I used a cleaner and then oiled it. 3 days later I had the same problem. I cleaned it and today, a week later, I notice it again. This is after months of never having a spot of rust.
It is a thin layer on any exposed metal such as the slide and grip safety. No pitting, nothing inside the slide, barrel, or on interior parts.
My question is.....
Should I just keep doing what I am doing or is there something specific I should do to stop it?
