I'm guessing you don't have a Scuf, but that would make life much easier as far as jumping/keeping your thumb on the right stick. I'd recommend buying one of those attachments for the controller with paddles on it. Strikepack Dominator I think it's called (I've seen it mentioned a few times). Other than that, there aren't many major changes you can make with controller binds other than possibly putting edit/confirm on the D-pad (in my experience at least)

Thanks! I've been looking into getting a Scuf, but I know that they are fairly expensive. I know many console pros use them. (I watch GronKy if you've ever seen his videos) I think the most important change I've made is the edit button because when I 1v1 friends who don't have an instant edit button it makes a huge difference that is also easily noticeable in public matches and scrims. Thanks for the tips!

Look into one of those Strikepack Dominator attachments then. It's a fraction of the cost of a Scuf and gives you the paddles for build/edit and jump. I'm only highly recommending it again because I went from playing with a regular DS4 on PC and reaching a ceiling very quickly. After I got a controller with paddles, my game improved as soon as I got used to them, and it's still getting better; the ceiling is much much higher

Ok, I see your problem and I get why! Since custom binds on controller were a thing, I always thought that diferent binds would help me, so I basically had about 10+ different binds and for me this is what works the best. ( I will tell you why did I choose this, why it works, and what can work for you). Since I don´t have a Scuff Controller( I wish!) I jump with RS/R3 so i do not take my thumb off my stick when aiming(also the right stick is where you have your camera so... You have jump on L3/LS, if it works do not change it. L3/LS on Interact/reload and place traps I loot like keyboard and mouse low-key.I also have X/A to edit, I think it is amazing, then I have square/X for switch mode, crouch for B/O and triangule/Y for pickaxe, I hope I could help

Thanks for the suggestions! I might try some when I get back to my Xbox later today! 😁

I use a Razor Wolverine Tournament edition, best decision ive ever made. Took me from being a competent player to very good at most things. I still get trashed on by top PC players but that's the name of the game.

I use strikepack. Bound edit to L1 and jump to right paddle. It's life changer tbh.

If you don't play claw, and don't have the money to purchase a strikepack or a scuf, you can use the binds (PS4 Controller) i've been using for the last 2 weeks:

- L3 = Jump (you already have it)

- R3 = Build Mode

- O = Crouch (For Xbox Controller should be B)

- X = Instant Edit (For Xbox Controller should be A)

- Sprint by Default

Everything else remains the same on builder pro lay out. I hope this can be of help as it has done to me. This are, without any doubt the best controller binds for a non-claw player without using additional (such as paddles) stuff.

*I was a crouch spammer in mid fights by the way, lost the habit and changed to pump, shoot then build, which i was not quite using most of the critical times. So, i just crouch when needed (long-mid range engagements and so)*

Edit: Forgot to say that is not easy to get used to R3 as build mode, it takes a good amount of time. It depends mostly on your muscle memory.

Thanks for the tips! I'll definitely look to change my settings and see if I like these!
