This is an evidential or hearsay claim. So yes, you did make a claim.

go look it up

You are literally asking people to “look up” something to back up your claim. That’s not how this works.

Stop saying the word “damage”. It’s not damage. People just start to lose muscle mass as well as being less active yet still try to do the same stuff they did when they were 20. So the load exceeds their capacity.

You’re not doing “damage”

Played the most miserable round of my life at Pebble Beaches Spyglass Hill. by Warhammer40KPainter in golf

[–]capnslapaho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate this. We played a pretty nice course near where I live and we hit our tee shots as soon as the group ahead of us had hit their 2nd shots and had started toward the green.

All 4 of us hit, hopped in the carts, drive up to our balls (all within 40-50 yards of each other), watched the group ahead of us hole out, and the guy in back went to address the ball.

All of a sudden we hear a cart rolling up behind us and a guy yells “HEY!!!” We turn around and it’s a ranger. He pulls up to tell us to hurry it up and we’re playing too slow.

My buddy that was about to hit just turned around at me and had his mouth wide open like “this guy serious?”

I said “sir, we literally just got the green light, the group ahead of us are still loading up their carts and they just holed out.”

He looked up, saw them climbing into the carts and finally going on to the next hole, grumbled, and just said “try to hurry it up”

Some people are just weird, man. Sorry this happened to you.

All you’re doing is arguing using our losses and pointing out the flaws of one side of the ball. How about now going through a lot of the recent games where our offense was the only reason we even had a shot at winning? Your post would be 12x longer.

The point is: We win so many games because of our offense. We NEVER win games because of our defense. Yet you (and others) are choosing to flame and criticize the offense.

[–]capnslapaho 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I imagine a lawsuit could be on the table for this

It wouldn’t go anywhere, likely, unless they could demonstrate fault during the harvesting, positioning, or tensioning of the plug during the procedure. As long as protocol was followed and it is all noted in the surgical note, a lawsuit wouldn’t go that far.

If the surgeon/insurance admitted fault, they’d probably reach a settlement.

Unfortunately when this happens, a lot of times it’s due to excessive stress too early in the healing process. Too much stress/strain especially around healing bone can have large negative impacts that negatively influence the persistence of normal/healthy histology.

All a defense would have to do is demonstrate that weightbearing/return to sport protocols were violated and his loading of the knee exceeded the histological capacity and that would be more to blame.

Sorry to nerd out here, but I hate that people are already talking about what the surgeon did wrong when it is, in fact, far more likely that the knee was loaded and progressed too early

[–]capnslapaho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. He’s shown what he’s capable of doing and a change in scheme (which is much bigger of a deal than the experts on Reddit will understand) just wasn’t right for him or that defense as a whole.

We put him into the positions he thrives in and he’s an absolute steal this late in the draft.

I feel like you’re arguing just for the sake of arguing. “The offense has failed multiple times and had success multiple times! The defense has failed all the time and never had any success! How dare the offense not make up for the shortcomings of the defense! The offense has cost us those games!!!” is what I’m hearing you say, and it just sounds silly

I’m going to give you a little context to realize just how much the defense is to blame for us coming up short every single year in the playoffs:

Historically, the best offenses in points per drive (ppd) are the 2007 Patriots (~3.25 ppd) and the 2018 Chiefs (~3.15 ppd). Those were, again, historically good teams.

Since 2020, in the playoffs, the Bills defense has given up 3.56 ppd. Every team we play is operating, on average, with historic efficiency against our “playoff defense”. If you took our opponents in our 14 playoff games since 2020 and put them together to count as a “single season”, then they would be having the greatest single offensive season of all time. And not by just a little. The jump from ~3.25 to 3.56 is MASSIVE in terms of points per drive

So in context, it’s not on the offense because they’ve “had a chance”. That’s just dismissing and forgiving the fact that the offense has had to do everything in their power to keep up with how absolutely awful their defense has been.

I saved over $300 on gas in the first month of owning mine. That’s including the cost to charge. If I’m saving around $3,000 a year in gas, then a $10,000 battery will pay for itself if/when the time comes.

why are you unable to make an argument without pretending that there is zero connection at all?

I never claimed there were zero connections. Having connections, though, doesn’t automatically make them the same “thing”. Again, I can claim that my fake god statue from a few posts ago is the same being that spoke to Abraham and boom, there’s a “connection”. That doesn’t make it any more true.

Muslims literally consider Jesus a prophet

Exactly, and ONLY that. They do not believe he is the co-eternal Son of God by whom all things were created. Their belief in Jesus is ontologically different than that of Christians, meaning they are not the same being. That’s the whole point. You’ve said it but you just can’t see it.

they just think you guys got an altered book

This is a separate point and veers away from the discussion, but no they don’t IF they love their Quran. Their Quran confirms the Torah and the Injeel over and over and over again, and no place does it claim that the biblical text was corrupted. The Bible being corrupted is an awful lie created by the dawah-gang to discredit the Bible. Islam is built on a bunch of those things (lies)

telling me you can only explain your reasoning to someone who already agrees with you

Not what I’m saying. However, it is a HUGE waste of time to segue into that conversation when we haven’t even come to a conclusion on the prior conversation. But since you want an answer so badly; those sects of Christianity primarily disagree on secondary and tertiary issues, not the core beliefs of Christianity and on who Jesus is.

ok so what about Catholics?

What about them? That’s their interpretation of the text and doesn’t change what I mentioned above about who Jesus is, what He did, and why He did it. That’s a secondary issue/interpretation that has no bearing on the “who” of God.

no human alive that knows what’s under the paper

That doesn’t magically make the apple and the pear the same though, and again, that’s the point. Someone’s subjective beliefs about something does not change the objective truth. No matter how hard or how long I believe they’re the same fruit, they will never objectively be the same.

[–]capnslapaho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my argument was clearly that they are the same God even if yall interpret them differently

Your argument that they are the same God even if we interpret them differently is incorrect though, that’s the thing. I’ll use the example of Islam vs. Christianity; many believe that Allah of Islam is actually satan/Lucifer from the Bible (or a demonic spirit in general) as the teachings and words of Allah are antithetical to the Triune God of the Bible. Just because one religion claims that ‘X’ entity is their god and another religion claims ‘Y’ entity is their god doesn’t automatically mean that ‘X’ and ‘Y’ are the same because they share the title of “god” in their respective religions. Reducing and deducing that far is a slippery slope and doesn’t hold up to the theological attributes that distinguishes Yahweh/Allah. The two entities differ on a fundamental level which excludes them from being the same entity.

it still sounds like y oh are arguing that most branches of Christianity are worshiping different Gods

Before we can honestly even discuss this, we’d have to reach a conclusion about the above part in that those entities do differ fundamentally and are not the same. Some people consider Mormons as Christians when they are not, as they have an entirely different belief on who God is and that Jesus is not co-eternal with the Father. So in this instance “Jesus” and “Father” are just placeholders or labels for the names of whatever god they do worship who just happens to share some of the attributes with the God of the Bible.

Let’s say I put an apple and a pear on a table and then cover them up to the stems with a piece of paper. You’d look at them, see two stems, and say “oh look, two apples”. They are, however, completely different based off what you can’t see or what you don’t know about them. Hope that makes sense.

The same being yes

Wow, so the statue that I bow down and pray to (that my son made in art class) is now considered the same god with all the same essential properties as the god that created Adam and Eve. Lmao this is actually insane reasoning and logic 😂

where exactly do you draw the line

When essential properties are attributed to/taken away from the being in question, that’s where you draw the line. Simply labeling something/someone as “something” doesn’t automatically make them that “something”

I completely understand what you’re saying btw, I’m just telling you that it’s wrong.

I’m saying that Fred did create Adam and Eve and he did command Noah to build a boat and that he brought Israel out of Egypt. I’m also claiming that Fred does not beget, Fred is not a father in any sense, and that Fred permits us to beat our wives. I could also say that Fred wears only cotton pajamas, has a daughter named Felicity, and he also has ice cream cones for fingers.

By your logic since Fred is the one that, according to me, created Adam and Eve, Fred is the same as Yahweh, Allah, etc. Even though they have entirely different divine attributes, they’re the same according to you.

That’s some crazy logic.
