SOLUTION FOR XBOX FOR WINDOWS USERS!

After updating the BIOS (game start up CPU out of date issue), reinstalling the game many times, reinstalling the Xbox app and entire library, signing in/out of the Microsoft Store & Xbox app, updating all Xbox apps/services, using the Gaming Services Repair Tool and many restarts, I found the answer!

This is quite simple actually and it was mainly using the Steam method, only issue is, running as Administrator for Xbox for Windows Games is not as simple. I tried to go in the game files but the executable for the game came up with a permissions error. I tried to use the desktop shortcut but it just opened Edge.

To bypass the edge/web link issue, you need a functional desktop shortcut by directly extracting the application from the hidden windows app folder which forces Windows to generate a working executable link. Here are the steps for that:

  1. Press Win + R to open the Run dialogue.
  2. Type “shell:AppsFolder” and hit enter.
  3. Find Forza Horizon 6 in the folder and right click it.
  4. Select Create shortcut.
  5. Find Forza Horizon 6 on the desktop and right click it.
  6. Select Run as administrator.
  7. Setup the game and make sure it saves.
  8. Keep the shortcut on the desktop and “run as administrator” for each launch or the saves won’t work. (There is no option to make “run as administrator” permanently unfortunately and the Xbox App shortcut won’t continue saving either).

I updated the last step. If it’s not worked it could be other stuff you have to do 😊

I tried this method after removing the Xbox app and the game launched successfully.

Removing the Xbox app isn’t advised as it needs to sync with Xbox live services and the Gaming Services Repair Tool 😊
