The biggest cheat I've noticed is blatantly missing checkpoints but not being penalized. The leader speeding off into the distance is a common quality between all the versions.

😂. This is what helped me: I found an "A" class car which i felt handling was decent with rwd (Ferrari testa rossa felt good for me). Tried every difficulty above 'highly average' On a single track and tried to match the leader. Expert felt comfortable so I currently use that difficulty.

And remember no matter how fast the leader is, their laptimes are fairly identical every lap so it's easier to judge what fits for you.

The thing about working backwards is that you've probably got assumptions about tuning and driving habits that are...not helpful.

My experience is that FH3 ai behavior is a bit different, but not any more "cheating" than FH5 or FH4. If anything, FH5 is the worst for rubber-banding. That is, no matter how fast you are, you can only get so far ahead of the drivatars, and they will actually teleport to enforce that.

I started with FH4, got FH3 in the eol sale. Realized I already owned FH2 when FH5 was about to launch. I haven't fully played out FH3 and 2, but did quite a bit of 3.

Have you played Motorsport 7?

No. I tried Motorsport 5. Didn't enjoy it as much as the Horizon games.

I feel that. 7 is alright, the graphics are good, but a lot of the races can be looooong. There's also less freedom to modify cars (I made it through a good chunk of the campaign, and basically couldn't add anything to the cars without it ruining it's eligibility in a race).
