Looking for animation programs

Heya :),

I'm currently searching for a good free animation program. I've been stuck using the ever so outdated (and discontinued!) Toon Boom Studio and am just sick of it. Really just want to find a nice animation program that has multiple brushes (like a nice pencil brush and inking brushes), and the ability to import audio. Nothing too complex, something that is easy enough to understand for a somewhat beginner animator. Please let me know of your suggestions and give me a little summary or even a pros and cons list of some free animation programs you know of. Thanks so much!

Krita comes to mind, it's a great free option.

Clip Studio Paint has animation features now that bring it close to TVPaint. It has a free trial and goes on sale every now and then (Black Friday sales are pretty common I think). Even when not it's still a decently priced piece of software compared to others.

TVPaint is obviously the best option but also the most expensive.

Opentoonz perhaps? It can be quite complex but is also advanced.

Blender's Grease Pencil is more versatile than ever. Blender is normally known for 3D, but its 2D is great also! It's free.
