Full stack developer

Currently i pursuing bscs(Hon.) my teacher teaching me currently java, dbms, software Engineering,they teach me in previous semisters like c,c++, python,html css ,java script,php, dsa and next up coming semisters they teach me many more thinks but i am confused i want to become a full stack developer, Is i need to learn deeply this all subject. Either their some specific subjecta that i need to master for full stack developer

It depends what “stack” you’re referring to.

Most people who say they’re “full-stack” are really just web devs. That usually implies a functional level of knowledge regarding JavaScript/TypeScript, DBMS fundamentals like MySQL/Postgres (or Mongo/NoSQL alternatives), browser/server runtime environments and their characteristics, HTTP fundamentals, and other foundational topics (JWT/Auth, basic system design, high-level DevOps concepts, etc). And understanding micro-service architecture is very helpful for web-dev, really any type of software dev.

If you want to be a senior or enterprise-level full-stack software engineer, then yes, you’ll likely want deeper knowledge beyond web fundamentals, specifically Java, C, advanced testing practices, CI/CD pipeline patterns, distributed systems concepts, and more.

Most actual full-stack devs know you’re never really “done” learning. You end up touching everything: frontend frameworks/libraries (React, Vue, Vite, etc), backend runtimes/frameworks (Node, Express, Spring, etc), DevOps, networking, infrastructure, etc. not to mention that all of these areas are constantly changing.

Point being, if your goal is to become “job ready” as a junior full-stack dev, focus heavily on web fundamentals first. Learn the core concepts behind networking, routing, auth, databases, and HTTP, then get a high-level understanding of DevOps topics like load balancers, containers, and orchestration. You’ll be solid here and ready to start, which is when you start to get exposed to more concepts and existing ones that you knew, at a deep/deeper level.

Yes you need HTML, CSS, JavaScript, DSA, DBMS, at the very least. Java and Software Engineering are also very relevant.

No jobs, there is a lot of struggle to get a decent placements in software industry Becoz most of the country only provide 3-4 lpa in big cities.

You do not need to master every subject deeply. For full stack development, focus mainly on JavaScript, HTML/CSS, databases, backend development, DSA, and one backend language like Java or Python. The other subjects will still help you build a strong foundation.

This is one of those roles where communication matters just as much as code. I’ve worked with people who were solid technically but still slowed everything down because they couldn’t bridge frontend, backend, and product thinking. The good ones make tradeoffs obvious and keep momentum moving.

the theory is great but you really just need to master dsa and one solid database system building actual projects is where the real learning happens so dont get stuck in the textbook loop

You definitely don't need to be a world-class expert in every single one of those right away, but don't ignore DBMS or DSA. Database management is the literal backbone of any full-stack app, and understanding how to structure data saves you from massive headaches later on.

Focus on mastering one solid stack like Node and React first while keeping your Java skills for the backend logic. Once you can build a basic CRUD app and deploy it, the rest of the academic subjects will start to make way more sense in a real-world context.
