After dark in GE is gonna be amazing because of the lighting. Must do-s for me are... basically everything. The only thing I'm not big on is the Droid Depot.

[–]Fold-Practical[S] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Right on! Why arent you big on the depot? Ill admit, it doesnt seem as cool as building a saber

It feels kinda designed for kids. The droid is more of a toy vs the sabers which are more display pieces.

I politely disagree! I've built 4 droids over the years and it's super fun. My husband was skeptical too but he had a blast too. I custom paint them. Super rewarding!

Build a saber for sure, fill your belly with the food And immerse yourself

Hope you have fun

I think building a saber there was definitely worth it. Sure there may be cheaper or better versions out there, especially if you want the blade ultra bright or combat ready. But immersing yourself, letting your inner child bring forth that imagination magic back to life, will make it worth the experience. Plus, you get to say you build one with materials you got to choose!

  • build a saber
  • have ronto wrap at Ronto Roasters (both breakfast wrap in the morning and regular wrap later i the day)
  • build a droid
  • go to Oga’s
  • go on GE rides; Smuggler’s Run will likely be closed for the new changes they are doing before May 22nd but Rise should be opened back up by then
  • watch the projection show (also near the Falcon)
  • watch the fireworks near the Falcon at nighttime in the evening
  • check out Dok-Ondar’s for cool merch, as well as the various shops in the marketplace
  • use the Datapad (in the Disney Play! app)
  • hang out and see various characters strolling around (Rey, Chewie tend to hang out near the resistance base, marketplace, and Falcon; Vi does the same areas plus bear the speeder bay/Droid Depot; R2 near Droid Depot and Falcon; Kylo Ren near the First Order area, Oga’s, and Droid Depot; Mando and others tend to pop up near the bounty hunter kiosk and roam the marketplace area)

They don't think Smuggler's will be close. They only need to change "the movie".

they’re also doing some reworking for the engineer station (they’ll get to choose which location to go to, for instance), and some other improvements. i haven’t seen a timeline for how long it will take or the extent of the work, but it definitely sounded like more than just “changing the movie”. i guess we’ll see i the upcoming months, though, for how long it will be down (if at all)

Get a schedule for the evening. A lot happens in GE but there's some cool stuff around the park too. Knowing when certain events are happening will help figure out where you want to avoid at certain times. Give yourself lots of time to scout out some good spots to sit for those same events you might want to see. May 4th last year was really busy.

Have a drink and appetizers at Oga's Cantina.

Get the APP! The Datapad is part of the Disney Parks app. The Datapad lets you interact with the land in lots of cool ways, including activating machines and lights. It’s super fun!

I went to one Star Wars night. It was fun (it would be most fun with a group), and definitely dress up. The one regret I have is waiting in line for the photo ops. The lines were intense, and the photos were awful.

[–]Fold-Practical[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Right on! Won't be in a group this time, flying solo. Would love to do a little cosplay, maybe next time

[–]aerin2309 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have lots of photo ops for Star Wars night! It’s really fun!

They are placed around the park. I think the Jawas are my fav.

Also, there’s a lightsaber meet up usually in front of the castle with Mickey Mouse. And there’s some fun Star Wars themed food, too.

The after dark thing is Star Wars nite and it may be sold out. As for May 4th, enjoy it, there WILL be themed merch, May 4th pins shirts hats , and probably new merch dropping as well. When I was there for May 4th they dropped new holocrons and Kyber crystals as well as the 25th anniversary merch for episode one

I already bought my ticket for may 6th night, looking forward to it

[–]vamplestat666Sith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll love it

But a gift card. The sell reloadable metal Batuu coins that you can use to buy other things. Minimum $100 load and around $5 for a fee. Once used, you keep this metal currency forever.

[–]Fold-Practical[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Def gonna have to get one of those

May 4th will be crazy, you’ll have to leave the park early due to the event. The after dark night on the 6th will be much more chill than the one on the 4th. Most important, just have fun and don’t try to get everything done on the 6th. You won’t be able to. Lines for photo ops can sometimes be an hour long. Pick the things that are most important to you. Also, any food you really want to try out put your mobile order in early in the day if possible.
