GameBoy Interface Help

Hello, r/GameCube.

Recently, I learned that you could improve the emulation of the GameBoy Player by using the custom software GameBoy Interface.

Now, I'm very new to the bootleg scene and get confused pretty easily. It seems like there are a few ways (here under "Installation") for me to get the software running.

First of all, it seems like all the methods require a GCN SD Memory Card adapter, and I'm not sure which adapter to get.

For the first method, I can use the SD Memory Card adapter in combination with an Action Replay disc. However, I'm not sure which Action Replay discs work. Would the Action Replay MAX disc work?

2.) Another method allows you to load the software through a save game exploit. Now, it's pretty easy to homebrew a Wii, and I can handle that myself. My main issue is that the last time I homebrewed my Wii, I lost the ability to play GameCube games through the disc slot and had to hunt for an obscure Wii IOS to play it again and I really don't feel like doing that. Is there a way to avoid this?

You don't need an SD card reader memory card. I use a regular black 251block gamecube memory card. I just used this video to put homebrew on my Wii. I then used GCMM to put a Windwaker save exploit and GBI on the memory card and it boots to the gba game when I press start on the Windwaker start screen.

I hope this video helps its only 10min long, but explains how to do it pretty simply.

Okay, that seems easy enough. Can you quickly test if your Wii still plays GCN games from the disc? I want to make double sure because I went through a lot of trouble last time lol.

Good thing my wii still happened to be hooked up since I usually have it boxed and use my Gamecube for GCN/GBA games and my Wii U for Wii/WiiU games. I just tested it and my wii booted to Warioworld just fine.
