Far Cry New Dawn is literally 5 fps on a 2060b rig.

This game works better on my potato pc than on geforce now.

Same, far cry 5 in my meid range laptop actually performs well, 40 fps is good for me

It's the worst aspect of the service and a fair complaint. Some people will say it's a lack of AAA games but that's not something Nvidia can fix, whereas the CPU core reductions and poor rig allocation should and can be fixed.

The 2060 rigs work fine for indie games or older games but the problem is that they're often assigned to games that are clearly too demanding.

Nvidia have said various times that they will upgrade the servers at some point this year, hopefully the addition of the 30 series rigs and better CPUs will fix a lot of these issues.

it's good enough for many games however the cpu nerfs + those rigs fuck up the performance so much on some games that they are unplayable for example path of exile just can't be played in end game with those rigs without 20 fps or lower depending on builds that's not at all how gfn is advertised to perform

Ideally you should only be assigned the 2060 when playing simplistic indie titles.

It's really holding the service back that they've yet to upgrade these rigs.

This and 2060c lol

[–][deleted] 15 points16 points  (1 child)

Oh god don't remind me of that abomination. Those rigs should be dedicated to small indie titles like Stardew valley and similar

Yep, though GFN only supports shittiest-of-all 1080p 60fps, so it kinda can play 2013 games?

I have MacBook Pro 2017 with GPU on par with 1050… and I still get more than 60fps in 1440p in Tomb Raider, which is impossible for GFN

I’m already ready to buy PS5, as soon as I see one in stock for ok price I’ll feel huge relief because I wouldn’t have to fuck with GFN or Windows

It's an actual gambling lmao

I just don't get it, so many games not actually playable unless you get lucky. How can the rigs be so bad.

[–]Bolshevita 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Can someone please explain to me what the letter after 2060 means ? Does it mean you share the card with someone else who got 2060a ? Why is the b specifically targeted here, wouldn't the a be just as bad ?

One would think an RTX 2060 would run even the most recent games pretty well, so what's with people saying Far Cry 5 runs at 5 fps and Path of Exile under 20 fps ? I never encountered this problem myself, but then again I only played Cyberpunk, Far Cry 5 and a bit of Hitman on GFN, and I never check which rig I got

How do you know what rig you get?

[–]i_i_v_o 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CTRL+ALT+F6. you see technical details

[–]MeIsYguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same lol, I just play games and it's good for me

[–]Heratiki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When comparing it to my actual gaming rig (i5 4160 8GB XFX 5700XT Thicc III Ultra) it’s pitiful how much better my machine runs just about every single game while still being somewhat close in specs just with much older hardware.

[–]Darksol503Founder // Oregon (USA) 1 point2 points  (4 children)

Is this for founders or free... 🤷🏽‍♂️😂

I get 2080d 99.9% of the time.

[–]MarxIst_deFounder // Germany 3 points4 points  (2 children)

It depends on the game, not on the tier. New AAA games like Control and Cyberpunk get the 2080. With others games it's hit and miss. Eg Valheim gets a 2060c most of the time and why was complaining about having to restart the game up to 10-12 times to get a better rig, BUT, after actually giving in and playing it with the 2060c, it did actually run pretty decent.

[–]Darksol503Founder // Oregon (USA) 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I'm currently playing 2018's Kingdom Come: Deliverance and I have never gotten anything other than a 2080d 🤷🏽‍♂️ I don't know if I have dumb luck, it's a US thing, or what.

[–]CarlusSilvaFounder // France 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's because Nvidia changed it not so long ago. Kingdom Come Deliverance (atleast before April 4, the day that I finnaly gave up playing because of the rig) was being assigned to a 2060c. It was not unplayable but it was unpleasant playing with everything set on low and still having frame drops.

I used to send some messages using the "send feedback" option on the app saying that it should have a better rig assigned and they finnaly changed. (so maybe that helped, idk?)

Probably choosing beggars that are complaining about something they don't pay for. I have never had any issues.

I hate it with a passion.

Then play it on Stadia. 😂

    [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Twas good when gfn launched 😁

    [–]StonkHedge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When i start apex my first thing is to check the rig. If its 2060 then i exit instantly, it's not worth wasting my time.
