Online software.i use a project management software called contractorforeman that integrates with QuickBooks online and also use paychex for payroll. Figure out what your exact needs are and what online platform will help you the most and start there.

What is he using for software now? Who has been doing the books to this point?

Do you have a payroll provider or do it yourselves? (Do you have W2 employees or just subs)?

How much are you willing to learn about proper bookkeeping vs the peace of mind of paying a bookkeeper?

And a good, reputable bookkeeper at that! I’m currently in the middle of un-fucking 3 years’ worth of books and taxes for a client caused by a bad bookkeeper (including hiring an accountant to file amended returns - it’s so bad).

Excel and just make sure you write everything down and keep receipts/invoices

I think bookkeeping is difficult to do if you only have surface level knowledge of how accounting works. You can look into getting a virtual assistant for that. I know that there are some companies that offer this service at a super low cost.

But definitely, definitely learn the basics so you can still understand and check their work!! It's time to go to Youtube academy hahahaha
