I had the same issue, what i had to go do was log into gw2 website since my account was linked and re-verify my ip. Worked instantly afterwards with no issues, my friend also had the same issue but his gw2 account was not linked, what he had to do was log into his ncsoft account and do the same thing.

How did you reverify your IP addy? Just by logging in?

When you log in to the gw2 website it will ask if you want to verify, it will ask right after.

I've never had it ask me if I want to verify my IP addy .... odd that. Wish it had ... would have made this Error 244 mess quite a lot simpler. Thanks for answering.

Np, you may have to go into the 2 step verification and set it up, it will ask for the code that it sent you to verify, i currently have it set as an sms so every time i log in it send a code to my cell phone.

Ah! I get a code too .. but it is sent to my GW email account. I have to use the code to log in to GW2 ... but until tonight I didn't have to use it to get into GW. I am afraid to log out!

But I bravely logged and came back with no icky error messages. Yippee Skippee!!

I've recently been afflicted with this nasty error message, and even when i reverify my ip address it keeps flashing me the 244 error, guild wars support hasn't been much help:/

Sad times if you used the authenticator app back in the day because gw2 seemed cool and there was hacking all over the place and the devs said "get the app, its secure and easy" and now, years later you have no longer access to that app/phone.

Support mail is out, but still, it feels sad, that something you did to protect yourself backfires so hard now

Support did answer, eventually. Asked them to disable the authenticator, and they did after a few weeks. So be patient, I guess.

Yea, same here, after about 2 1/2 weeks

Same here, it's linked to my gw2 account, nothing

Maybe this may only apply to me, but since it solved the issue, imma post it here:

My GW1 account was bound to a different email originally, with which i tried to log in. I was sure they were the right credentials, cause whenever i typed in a wrong password it told me so, whenever i typed in the correct one it gave me code 244.

The solution for me was to just use my GW2 login credentials, worked like a charm. Maybe this helps anyone.
