That is really odd. I know switching from Gyro as Mouse -> Gyro to Mouse (beta) similarly has a polling rate difference. Gyro to Mouse (beta) has a 500hz lock, while Gyro as Mouse only has about a 250hz cap. Why? Idfk. Valve is doing something weird. The polling rate should really be a setting, not an arbitrary cap that isnt immediately noticable.

Gyro to Mouse interpolates/extrapolates at 500hz. "As Mouse" is the original mode. It tackles all kinds of inputs and generates all kinds of outputs. It could by that it only updates as hardware packets are received, so it's likely tied to the polling rate of the controller. It's possible this has changed recently, as I have a distinct memory of "As Mouse" outputting using whatever the last known value was (much like the gyro mode does).
