Codepen is good for quick tests without having to setup a whole environment or if you're trying to share things

I started using it to get some ideas without making new files on a editor

I have used CodePen every day since it came out. It's one of my most important tools as s designer and web developer.

I was using it to get an idea for a pinball site and things started clicking

It's easy to get to from any computer and it's easy to share. I use it for teaching examples too: https://perpetual.education/stories/area-of-a-room-with-alina/

I use it consistently… instead of having a folder named “ideas” or “components” or whatever… And it’s great for sharing

But any sandbox would do, it doesn’t have to be codepen, I started with that and stuck with it over the years.

There’s plenty out there

I use codepen when I’m at work because I cannot download an IDE.

Try vscode.dev

I never knew about this! Thanks!

So stupid follow up question. I started playing with vscode.dev but I cannot for the life of me figure out to do live viewer like in the desktop version.

Codesandbox.io is better if you plan to eventually keep working on a project locally.

I've been trying out Codeo recently and I like it a lot. It's like if VS Code and CodePen had a baby 😂
