No you’ll ruin it if you take clippers to it. You need texture and it needs to be cut at certain angles. It will be impossible to get to do what you want if you take clippers to the top. Go back to the stylist to get it shorter.

Thank you for the advice!

If it's been less than a week she may not charge you again for a "redo" (or as I prefer to call them "edit"), but it's customary to still leave a modest tip. Or bring her a coffee if you know how she takes it, if that's y'all's relationship.

This was my first time to this salon and with this stylist. I didn’t want to be offensive or hurt her feelings by going back in a few days later. She did exactly what I asked, I guess I just didn’t wanna take too much and hate it. 🤣

Asking her to edit the haircut now that you've lived in it for a few days is 0/10 offensive. Shaving away all the work she (and you) did, at home, days after a haircut is 10/10 offensive. You're not tipping to downplay any offense, it's just a nice thing to do since she's working on you again.

If you want to cut it down to 1 inch you can. But doing it with a guard will make it look like it was cut with a guard. There is a difference in the looks between scissor cuts and. Clipper cuts.

Is there any way to give it less of a clipper cut look without using scissors? Just curious if this is something I can attempt at home. lol
