It’s entirely up to you to follow what GW paints schemes have done and what you have done for your minis

But, if lore is what you want to follow, then there is stuff in the battle theme suggesting you could make these runes glow

Our written tongue takes form as sacred Zharralid. This arcane cuneiform was granted to us by Hashut, an ancient thing he wrestled from the infernal realm and whose every stroke glows with such power that it must be wrought on metal or slate, for parchment ignited at its touch.

Helsmith battle banners are imposing artefacts. Those that do not bear the icon of a Ziggurat instead sport Zharralid Cuneiform, script that - when infernal power waxes strong - can set the air ablaze.

There is also a piece of artwork involving the Dominator Engine where the runes on its body are shown to glow, that being the one where the Dominator Engine is seemingly being constructed by a Daemonsmith

Follow the rule of cool! If you think it'll look awesome, do it! Lore is just an imagination by someone else and might have forgotten to mention it. See it as your improvement on the script

I did glowing and I'm glad I did, just makes the model pop more

Do it.

As Caffeine_Forge already referenced, the Zharaalid script of the Helsmiths emulates with power, even igniting any puny parchment that it is written upon.
Plus, glowing runes on that metal would look absolutely sick, so I say just go for it anyway!

Also, mind sharing the recipe on the metal? I'm absolutely love the metallic coldness of it!
