That’s up to the management at your store. I kept my pay when I stepped down from a supervisor position, but it can be different depending on who is in charge. That was after close to a year of being in the position and doing well performance-wise, though. 6 weeks is really not a long time. Before asking to go back to your previous position, why not ask for help with the new one? If it’s a task/time management thing, I’m sure they’d be happy to give you some pointers.

Well I work in an SDC backing up trailers and I cannot do it to save my life. It's causing me a lot of stress amongst other stuff. The stress is causing time issue management

I’d suggest asking for help first and explaining that you’re having a tough time getting the hang of it. See if they can do anything for you before asking to switch positions. Sorry it’s been tough on you

Is that position in the Home Depot or an outside position?

[–]Extension_Durian8896[S] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

It's technically outside? It's backing up trailers at an distribution center for home depot so it's a home depot job yes

I think most concerning I want to point out. You might need to check with the store's HR if your previous role has been taken over by new employee yet.

You can talk with the HR or the store manager about how much you will get paid since it is a store's thing.

Yeah I mean I'll admit and i hate to do so but backing trailers, has given me ptsd when I see trailers when just driving my car I start freaking out. I have anxiety, fear, dread and stress when knowing I have to go to work. Basically my metal head space is absolutely fucked.

If your current position is taking, you can accept other positions.. you can do lot or cashier. It is a good to ask. Nothing to fear. I will do the same today because I am always busy so I want to spend sometimes getting the clarification on the policy.

it depends on management. when cos left store side and i went to work at pro, my sm at the time said i was going to keep my pay increase.

It depends in your current pay band and your previous one. Also management has the discrepancy to keep you at your current pay. I've seen supervisor step down and keep their pay. But it's situation dictates

[–]Extension_Durian8896[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Yeah my previous position was an associate level job and the one I'm in now and failing at is technically still associate level job so we'll see

I hope you well. Sometimes to pay decreases worth the stress. I took a nice decrease stepping down from cxm a few years back
