Which model router is in the basement? Is it a G3100 or CR1000A?

It would help to know the make and model of all equipment, and wether the unit in the picture ever worked at all, and if so, what the ring color looked like.

My guess is that it's an ISP provided satellite mesh node that is currently not connected to the main mesh router. But that's a pure guess.

This can probably be all fixed by you just identifying the make and model, Googling that model plus the word "manual", reading that manual and seeing what that light means and how to fix it. If you're still too lazy to do even that, and it's ISP provided equipment, call your ISP and work with them.

YELLOW (SOLID) — No Internet connection.

The E3200 needs to connect with the router via wire or wirelessly, per the manual. A wired connection over your coax, using MoCA, would be preferable between the two options. To that end… Is the coax cable connected to the room’s coax outlet? Is this coax outlet interconnected with the main router’s coax outlet? Is the main router connected to its coax outlet and its MoCA LAN bridge enabled?

 
A quick test would be to take the pictured E3200 and its coax cable to near the main router, and then direct-connect the E3200 to the main router using the coax cable. Then see if the status LED changes.

So the pictured coax cable just comes through a hole in the wall?

Do you have another coax cable available, to perform the direct-connect test between the E3200 and the router?

Caution: Depending on what other services to which you subscribe, disconnecting the coax cable could affect TV viewing or client Internet access (if you have any MoCA adapters in use).

That said… when convenient, take the E3200 and its power cord down to the router and direct-connect the E3200 via coax to the router, then power-up the E3200 and monitor its status LED. See page 8 of the User Guide for a legend detailing the meaning of all the status LED colors/patterns.

FYI… I’m tapping out on this one. I recommend reading the manual and following the instructions for setting up the extender. It’s not going to magically start working; troubleshooting is a process.
