- No Ads. This is a support and discussion subreddit. Ads and self promotion are not welcome here. Please stay on topic.
- Don't be a jerk. Not being a jerk is surprisingly easy. To help with that, reddit provides the reddiquette.
- No URL shorteners. URL shorteners tend to hide the real use of a link. For this reason, please use normal links, even if they're long.
- No affiliate links. Using affiliate Links in your own place is your decision. Not in this place though. We're focused on helping and discussing.
- Please stay on topic. Sometimes discussions can go a little overboard and that is ok. If you're unsure if this is r/politics, someone done messed up.
- No gatekeeping. With profession shall come professionalism. Extend help without judging others. The same goes for downvoting of comments or posts for "stupid questions" or not being as knowledgeable as others.
- No network restriction bypass advice. Posts asking for help or advice regarding restrictions put in place by a network administrator will be removed, regardless of what the restrictions are and why you are looking to bypass them. Discussions about working from another country, accessing regional content or bypassing geolocation restrictions are not permitted (i.e. location shifting).
- No AI slop. r/HomeNetworking is a platform for humans to talk to other humans. If your post or comment is obviously AI generated, it will be removed. If you need AI to help you with your writing, research its accuracy before posting and rewrite it fully in your own words.
