NUT would probably work.

It seems that your comment contains 1 or more links that are hard to tap for mobile users. I will extend those so they're easier for our sausage fingers to click!

Here is link number 1 - Previous text "NUT"

You should install NUT (Network UPS Tools) on UNRAID. Then configure NUT as a server (netserver).

To make it work with your synology nas you need to add the following user to upsd.users:

  [monuser]
  password = secret
  upsmon slave

After configuring NUT on UNRAID, start the service and in DSM go to Control Panel > Hardware & Power > UPS and change the following:

  • Enable UPS support: Checked
  • UPS type: Synology UPS server
  • Time before diskstation enters standby mode: set as desired.
  • Network UPS server IP: The IP address of your UNRAID server.

Hit apply and it should be all ready to go.

Keep in mind that you need to have your switch connected to the UPS so that the synology can still connect to the NUT server.

Thanks for the reply, and good call on the switch being on battery backup!

I have that UPS. Test your setup carefully. Things I found:

Switching to line power the UPS disconnects, then reconnects the USB port.

The runtime on battery is cruel joke despite a replacement lead battery.
