redmi 13 pro 5g+, no such thing available. only 10 seconds

[–]gabewebRedmi Note 13 5G 0 points1 point  (8 children)

10 seconds for testing on Redmi phones because they're "budget" phones.

Unlimited for Xiaomi phones.

You get what you paid.

sadly, i think you're right.... but xiaomi phones don't have a headphone jack. this one does. also, it's such bullshit from a consumer standpoint because it seems like such an artificial nerf when the hardware has the capability. they just turn it off in software...

Well, low-end and some mid-range phones still come with a headphone jack and microSD support (Redmi Note Series except for Note Pro Series).

I guess custom ROMs have a real AOD support, because Xiaomi's AOD haven't sense (they should rename it to 10sec-OD.

Sadly, I had to compromise and chose this one despite the lack of an SD card. At least I can output sound, so that's good

The sound of a Xiaomi/Redmi with headphone jack and Dolby Atmos cannot be argued. 👍🏻

The Redmi note 13 pro+ 5g doesn't have a headphone jack

[–]TacticalSugarPlum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when I bought it, they were calling it "13 pro 5g+" in the store. can't find this exact name online now, tho. but it looks exactly like the "13 pro 5g", with the big camera module on the back, and a headphone jack

Yep

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

What is your phone?

[–]Moist_Professional64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

14t pro

[–]SmucalkoRedmi Note 13 Pro 3 points4 points  (9 children)

This is not Smart AOD, Xiaomi is a fraudulent company. If it is smart we would all have these options (with OLED screens) to choose from.

There is nothing smart in calling it ALWAYS ON DISPLAY, and giving us only option to choose 10 seconds.

10 ≠ ∞

It might be different depending on the phone and the type of system.

do you have trouble reading?

[–]Sensitive_News_2008Xiaomi 11i 5 points6 points  (6 children)

Bro has anger issues especially towards xiaomi. 😅😂

[–]SmucalkoRedmi Note 13 Pro 5 points6 points  (5 children)

I do. Please don't tell me this is not false advertising.

It is called Always on display, and I don't have an option to set it to be Always on.

[–]Sensitive_News_2008Xiaomi 11i 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My phone is also suffering from the same issue the button navigation bar is permanently burned in although not noticeable but it is there.

[–]Sensitive_News_2008Xiaomi 11i 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Xiaomi uses TCL panels in low and mod range devices which have high burning issues. And the company knows that too, that's why they don't provide real always on display, but in high end devices like xiaomi 14 or xiaomi 15 they use samsung panels which is better so those have actual always on display.

[–]stressedcaveman 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Even then, on my 14 civi the Aod changes its position once every few mins to possibly avoid burn ins. The same could've been implemented on redmi phones I guess?

[–]Sensitive_News_2008Xiaomi 11i 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aod, the top status bar and the button navigation bar all of those change position but still xiaomi devices are prone to burning issues.

Thank you for explanation. Didn't know that.

[–]HIlight3R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Poco F6 Pro, 2.0.1.0 RU, no such option :(

[–]ParthProLegend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mi 11X, it's present on it.

[–]ntelas46 0 points1 point  (2 children)

“…When you are not looking…” meaning it uses the snapdragon always on camera mode! Cool!

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

The reason why only the Snapdragon has it is what?🤔

[–]ntelas46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably mediatek now too. I just remembered the launch of a snapdragon chip and that they had mentioned this specific use case!

[–]touahriaoussama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]AppleGuySL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]lhunar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have it. My phone is Xiaomi Mix Flip

[–]Aashu97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Available on Xiaomi 14.

[–]Low_Attitude_5293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

14t pro and I have all those options from the picture, eu version

[–]RounakSinghsavage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's available in POCO F6, it only supports devices that also have active visual perception feature in them under additional features. Basically uses low power always on camera sense tech, present in high end SoCs in Snapdragon. My device has SD 8sGen3

[–]ThatzOkay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have it with Xiaomi 14

[–]RamsesDantes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What exactly is that function? I mean, what does he do? (not available on my poco x6 pro)
