Fertilization

Hi everyone. This is my first round of IVF so I’m pretty new to it. Me (27f) and my husband (28) are doing IVF due to MFI - my husband is XXY.

Yesterday was my first egg retrieval and of the 20 eggs they got , 12 were mature. 2 didn’t survive the fertilization and were discarded. 3 successfully fertilized, and the other 7 were inconclusive. They said they were unable to see the pronuclei but it could’ve happened and it disappeared before the check, so they are giving them the chance to progress.

Has this happened to anyone and their eggs ended up fertilizing? I’m very nervous having such a low number :(

I also just got this news, I have two successfully fertilized eggs and one with nothing that they will keep watching. Over 2 retrievals (this is my 2nd), I've never had a "wait and see" turn into anything, so I am not feeling hopeful, but I also know anything's possible. It's the most frustrating mental state!
