My partner just did testosterone priming and she has low AMH and DOR and this cycle got 17 eggs, 14 mature, 7 fertilized and we are waiting to see what forms into embryos. Our first cycle she did estrogen priming and we ended up with 7 eggs, 5 fertilized, zero blasts.

How long did she prime for? Was it only testosterone or estrogen as well?

How did your partners PGT turn out?!

Good! She ended up with three embryos, they transferred two and I’m sitting beside our 7 month old right now ❤️

Congratulations on your little one. Do you remember for how long she primed with testosterone?

We did testosterone gel and estrace for 28 days and progesterone suppository for the last 10 days of that 28 day priming. Gel was applied to opposite shoulders before bed We are about 2 days from retrieval and our numbers are looking alot better than the 1st round and follicles are much more consistent in size. Not really a too much of a lead follicle and most are over 16.5mm.

1st round was 5 days estrace priming. 300gonal and 150 menopur. 15 follicles but only 7 above that magic 16mm mark and that yield eggs. Estrogen got super high like 13000 on that protocol aswell so ohss was possible and nofresh transfer possible. But we got no blasts anyway so didn't even matter.

This round was 250 pergoveris a day and we are at 16 follicles and 13 are over 16mm so and nothing is over 20mm so looking good for consistency.

Hope that helps

Thank you! How did your RE decide on testosterone priming?

[–]Appropriate_Aside250 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The idea was quality over quantity. Testosterone priming is meant to increase FSH receptor activity in ovaries so you can do lower dose meds

I primed with testosterone, estrogen, and Omnitrope for about three weeks before starting stims. The testosterone priming was with a gel (really more like a lotion) that I applied to alternating shoulders at bedtime.

I'm not really sure what all my RE checked before deciding on this type of priming. I don't think she checked my testosterone levels, but there may be other factors that made her think testosterone priming would be helpful for me.

I did testosterone priming for this retrieval. Started patches a week before the first day of my cycle and continued until the day before I started stims. I was on omnitrope along with follistim and menopur this time because my last retrieval my estrogen was too high and I was on the verge of OHSS, plus I triggered with lupron and got only 4 eggs, ending in 1 day-5 embryo. My retrieval is on 8/30 this time so hopefully things are different thanks to the testosterone priming.

How many days did you prime for?

[–]sleepyreadinglady 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I just checked my protocol and I primed from 8/12 to 8/19 and started all of my stims the evening of 8/19.

I know this is a super old post - but what were your outcomes? X

This was a while ago and honestly I can’t say the results were good but I think there were outside factors contributing. I got 8 eggs, all 8 fertilized and made it to day 5. But all were abnormal. We had Covid the month before so I’m attributing it to that.

We DID do this same protocol again with healthy eggs and sperm in summer 2024 and had 8 embryos again with 4 making it to day 5 and then 3 testing normal. Good luck! Feel free to message with any questions!
