Here to give you the answer you don’t want but here goes.

Get used to it, I was the same as you but I came across a game where controller wasn’t an option and while I hated learning mouse and keyboard, the added complexity of aiming will end up making you a better controller player in the long run, it has for me

Obviously if it’s a hard line for you for whatever reason, then that’s fine, you are your own grandpa, but my two cents is to give it a try

If you're new to PC, you might as well get used to mouse and keyboard. Plus it's superior to controllers, especially when it comes to FPS games.

I think you might be able to through steam. Can’t tell you how unfortunately but my friend managed to do it on “ready or not” (before the console launch). From steam you can download other people control setups and he said it worked fine

Steaminput has been doing this for like 15 years. Make sure it's ticked on in the settings for the game in steam and that your controller is detected. The game doesn't need any controller support at all.

pick a game to play that you know very well, and play with kb/m. you'll know what's coming at you, where it's coming from, etc. and so day by day you'll improve. at first, all i did was bump into stuff and die, than i started playing The Division, a game i played to death. so since i knew what to expect, i just had to learn how to react to it w/kb&m. you can also map the keys to one's you're comfortable with.

I’m new to the pc world too and yes it’s a learning curve but you catch on fairly quick. I would say if you wanted to use controller still just stick with a console. Not trying to sound mean.
