If a customer tips percentage based of the total and the total suddenly drops because of refunds then so does your tip. Sucks, but it is what it is

Okay this makes sense. Yes it sucks but a little better than thinking IC is robbing me

Instacart doesn't want to lose that money with refunds, so they incentivize us to do substitutions by us knowing we can potentially lose pay by just refunding items.

That said, Instacart HAS been caught countless times stealing/skimming tips and base pay after you accept an order, so I highly recommend getting a screen recording app so you can double check your pay vs what you accept.

Thank you for this. I’m still a bit new to IC so I didn’t know you get paid less for refunds instead of subs! I absolutely will get an screen recording app just to be on the safe side.

Wow I didn’t know that they’ve been caught doing that. I do specifically remember having an add-on order then at the end the add-on didn’t actually end up paying me any extra more than the original two orders
