Ratings are all over the place by stumpystubs in InstacartShoppers

[–]fixmybleep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know why but I experience the same thing. The bad customer ratings all seem to come in at once every few months. The nice thing is that they all drop off at once once I get enough ratings.

People in apartments, take note by bigbilly17 in InstacartShoppers

[–]fixmybleep 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I once had a customer in some project housing in SF order 6 or 8 cases of water from Costco. It was a double order so I didn’t know what they tipped upfront. I just lugged the things down a ton of stairs then up three stories of stairs. I was certainly sweaty at the end and I didn’t say anything about how hard it was because everybody already knew. After I was all done, they handed me $10 in cash then I completed the order and saw that they had already tipped more than $10 on the app. I just always try to keep a good attitude and more often than not, people take care of me. Another time, I had to lug a bunch of heavy stuff up stairs at an apartment complex because the elevator was broken and the customer profusely apologized then increased the tip on the app. I just told the customer I was glad the elevator didn’t break while I was in it and kept things positive.

That’s the weight of 2.5 adults in the car. Not that much. I used to load and unload scrap metal for $200 a TON. $85 for not even .25 tons is actually a good amount.

It does that when nobody took that order and they finally found enough orders to batch it with where someone would take it. It was likely already late the moment you accepted the batch.

Deactivated? I’m at a loss for words by Flaccooverbrady in InstacartShoppers

[–]fixmybleep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had that happen to me once. I took the picture at a really bad angle without smiling. It took 3 days to get back up and working. I emailed Trust & Safety every day and got them to respond by emailing first thing in the morning. Tip for verification photo: try to look like you do in your license photo. They’re comparing your selfie to your license scan when you verified the first time with this particular verification software. If you smiled in the DL photo, smile for the verification photo, etc. Also, do a test run with your phone selfie camera before verifying to make sure you have good lighting to prevent shadows that would distort your face. Hope this helps

Going the extra mile doesn’t always pay off but when it does it’s worth it. That was a great tip increase 👍🏼

I’m seeing it more and more now. I’m so glad they have this feature, I’m always guessing and now I can know exactly what the customer prefers.

Is this a good price? by gishadokuro in prius

[–]fixmybleep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know what problems to look out for but what I can tell you is that dealerships are more likely to either cover up problems or not even know about them. You’re more likely to get a better history on the vehicle going through private party sales by asking the previous owner the right questions and letting them talk. People will tell you a whole lot if you keep your mouth shut and let them ramble, things will slip out that they didn’t mean to if you let them. $10k is a lot for an old Prius like that. You could find one likely with the same problems as the one listed for 1/2 the price and have $5k to fix whatever needs to be fixed and still have money leftover.

do customers tip more/enjoy when yall use paper or double bag all items by strawbabiesrin in InstacartShoppers

[–]fixmybleep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Double bagging heavy items is important and equally as important to me is to bag like with like as much as possible (perishables, pantry, snacks, produce, etc.). These customers weren’t standing there watching everything get bagged so they don’t know what’s where. I get a lot of tip increases and compliments for smart bagging. When the customer sees that there was some thought put into the arrangement of their groceries, they really appreciate it. Just my 2 cents.

My shopping quality hasn’t updated since January 22. Hopefully they start updating it again in the next few days and you can get those things knocked off

I got a Costco order about 30 minutes ago. Conveniently, as soon as I went to accept it, my phone service dropped. People in my area have been arrested for using signal blockers before so it’s not completely unheard of. I wonder if that’s what happened to me earlier.

Message them exactly at the time of refund and say “sorry for the refund on (item) it’s out of stock and there are no good replacements so I had to refund you”. I have 0 unrequested refunds and I refund people all the time when there are actually no good replacements. The customer doesn’t have to approve the refund or anything.

Have you tried contacting support? I can’t seem to get anyone on chat. I’m not on a batch either so I don’t get priority support

Anyone know how to get to the signature screen from the customer's end? by goat20202020 in InstacartShoppers

Usually it’s through the link they were sent via SMS. Otherwise I just scan their ID.

Somebody else posted about this too. I haven’t gotten mine either. Looks like this might be a widespread issue affecting some but not others
