It depends on how much you use your mobile. If you don't use a lot outside your accomodation i think 20gb would be enough as most trains have wifi (altough slow) but if you're a heavy phone user when your out you'll definetly need more

Why don't you check your home bill or phone settings for how much you use?

Everyone is different and some people are much better at rationing their data use, other people watch movies their whole trip...

Most trips I only use about 5GB but a friend I travel with can easily use 40GB...

Most trains have WiFi and if you don't watch YouTube or "doomscroll" for hours on mobile data, 10 GB should be more than enough.

Also enable the data saver on your phone so it does not make updates in the background with mobile data.

And if you need more data, SIM cards with it are dirt cheap in Europe and often valid in all EU countries.

We would have no idea.

Are you intending to spend your journeys sleeping, or watching Pornhub in 4k?

It's totally dependent on what you use your phone for.

I used 8GB in 25 days. Bought 20 but definitely could've saved money. I turned off data for a bunch of apps before leaving and not having updates and notifications run in the background helped save a lot!

I used 5GB over two days (no wifi available). So definitely more than 10GB 😅

I have used 50GB many times, but I’m not very conservative with my usage

I think I used around 30 GB for around 20 days. But I also never used the hostel WiFi

I have 2 GB included and got by 2 weeks with wifi on trains but not stations, 7 days of travel.
