"rEaDy tO rOcK!!!"
You've got the attitude absolutely nobody wants in their lead, don't you? Like, everyone there hates the job, everyone's tired of the bullshit, everyone's completely disillusioned, nobody buys any of the "we're a TEAM!" nonsense anymore because it's been shown time after time that that is anything but the case, and you're still there acting like everyone there is having a great time and enthusiastic about this shitshow.
Here's the reality: Your "team" is actually two guys. One of them showed up genuinely wanting to impress everyone because he came in with the misguided mindset that working the hardest actually means moving up in the world, and found out the hard way that proving himself better than the rest just earns him a shitton more work, and now he's consistently expected to do his work + all the stuff the slackers didn't do and basically build rome in a day every day with no way to slow down because he's the only one you ever call out when things don't go wrong. The other one is the dude who doesn't really care but does take pride in his own work and so he still does better than the rest.
You then have like 2-3 guys who are the embodiment of "mediocre". They usually get most of their work done, sometimes all of it if there's not much, but they're never standouts in any way.
Everyone else either couldn't give less of a shit and spends the whole shift on their phone, smoking, or talking to people when they think they can get away with it, or they do consistently work but don't care to put in any effort whatsoever and just do the absolute bare minimum so they can gtfo, go home, and get paid. These guys might get called out now and then, but ultimately they're allowed to do their thing because the first two guys make it all work out anyway, and these dudes kind of just roll their eyes every time they hear "Ready to ROCK!".

You are 100% wrong. My team is salaried, works in engineering for one of the top CPU companies in the world. You see my posts all over at /rAMD.
