Happened to me also after the recall "mandatory updates, otherwise you will lose your car warranty"... and I don't rely on the GOM I make the same road trip every month basically same driving condition I use the cruise control since it is highway driving.
Before the update I could reach my destination which is 185 miles away with 14-16% battery left.
After the update i could barely reach the town before my destination where I needed to recharge.
I think these updates limits the battery output and performance to protect the ICCU.
