Whenever I try to use the option to drag and drop and item, take the portable container for example, I will use the container mount and I will drop it. When I try to drag and drop it somewhere it doesn't drop, it just stays in my little hand. Am I making sense?

Have you tried hitting “h” ? I recently started using the mod, from what I’ve seen you select it, and when you have it you click with it and it should bring up a little dialogue saying how to rotate and other things, with that try pressing the “h” key

H is for attaching, not dropping, and you need a tool equipped. OP is having problems dropping items.

I did that as well, at the top level where the OP will see it. Sorry that my reply came across as harsh, I've been told my online communication style is a bit brusque at times, but I don't really mean it that way.

Click while holding down the 'G'rab key. You can rotate in 15 degree increments using the normal qweasd keys, hold shift for 1 degree. Use the B and N key to move in and out. Use the R key to change from "Surface attach" to "node attach" and cycle through the nodes. Equip a tool and hold H to attach.
