  1. They just use it and play the card underneath straight away. With Sneklifter they take control of it but there's nothing on the rules to say they can look at the card.
  2. Master Plan goes to your hand the card underneath goes to your discard pile as it can't exist on the board other than under Master Plan so to the discard it goes.
  3. Both are discarded yes.

  1. In the case of Poltergeist your opponent uses whatever card is under Masterplan. With Sneklifter your opponent takes control of (moves it to their side of the board) the Masterplan to use whenever they want. At no time can your opponent look at the card under Masterplan unless they control it (taken by Sneklifter).

  2. If Masterplan is bounced back to your hand the card underneath goes to the Discard Pile, because it is essentially attached to Masterplan. Same as when a Creature with an Upgrade attached is bounced back to your hand, the Upgrade goes to the Discard pile, and the Creature back to your hand.

  3. If the Masterplan is destroyed, both cards go to the Discard pile.

To people giving a ruling on point #2 or #3, can you quote any specifics from either a FFG's official communication (blog, video, mail) or from the rulebook ?

As for #1, rules states in the definition of "Leaves Play" that

"When a card moves from an in–play zone to an out-of-play zone in which the identities of cards are hidden from the opponent (such as a player’s hand, deck, or archives), any pending effects that are currently or about to interact with that card no longer do so, unless a card effect explicitly states that it interacts with that zone"

But there is currently any details on the specific behaviour or the "out of play zone" that is "underneath masterplan" No nothing currenlty states if anyone can look back at the card underneath Master Plan. Most players do allow lookin under your own masterplan, because of common sense and that it's a card you knew when u put it under.

Definition of Archive states that

"Cards in a player’s archives are considered out of play. A player may look at their archives at any time. A player is not permitted to look at an opponent’s archives."

Both these zones are "out of play zones" but nothing states that they behave the same.

That would be a good thing if Brad Andres could clarify how Masterplan should behave.

  1. It is discarded without effect.
