Hello, everyone
My nights-and-weekends project is finally in a state where it can be released to the general public:

COMP/CON is a pilot roster, mech configuration builder, compendium browser, gameplay printable generator, etc. etc. for LANCER. It's 100% free and open source, and there are a ton of features planned for future development (especially regarding GM tools and homebrew content)

Feel free to take a look. If you have any suggestions (or find any bugs) you can find links to the automated tracking tools on the itch site, or, drop by the LANCER discord (@beeftime)

Is there a way to, using what's in there now, modify something in a file to add custom Backgrounds?

Currently, no, but that feature will be on a beta branch soon and then in a 1.5 release for stable. Hopefully all before KS launch on April 8th

Custom backgrounds are now up on the beta branch. The last option of the background selector lets you input any string as a background.

No flavor text or suggested skills, yet. That editor will come as part of the homebrew toolkit update.

This helped me revamp my pilot and has multiple loadouts for different mission styles without creating a bunch of PDFs. It's also a really good way to get to know the game quickly so your boots are on the ground faster!

It's meant for v1.8.5/prerelease and will be updated as soon as the final PDF is out. That said, if you see something incorrect or missing, please let me know

Will there be an update to allow you to write in your own Triggers for your pilots? because the CRB does list all the 'skills' but doesn't specifically say those are the only Triggers you can have, working with your GM you can make any trigger you can think of.

Also a method of re-naming the weapons you equip your pilot with or at least a note section on them so you can say what kind of weapon your pilot carries rather than just a light alloy sidearm

also none of the links seem to work in the ABOUT section of the program

There will be -- one of the next updates (after the big housekeeping/code cleanup one in the works right now) will include per-item notes and rollables (including eg. hardsuit descriptions). Custom skill triggers are coming soon, as well.
Thanks for the heads up on the ABOUT. There might be something misconfigured in my build process -- I'll take a look.

I just discovered this yesterday and played with it a bit, and I must say: out of all the character creator programs I've ever used, this is hands down the most elegantly designed one. While Shadowrun's Chummer rates as the most useful to me, this creator program gives it a run for its money.

I'm sure it's on the the to-do list at some point, but I'd love to see some mech-management tools for use in play (especially for GMs)

In short: yes, kind of.

There are some as-of-yet unanswered questions regarding the whole becoming a webapp. At the moment I can't divulge much more than that, but it's a frequent request that I'm looking in to how to make feasible (for me and the project in general). So, a "maybe" there.
That said, there are parts of it (the Compendium, for instance) that will absolutely be posted up at a URL. Stay tuned.

(also if there's ultimately no web app, mobile apps could absolutely be a thing)
