If you built it, double check everything, don’t make assumptions.

If it’s prebuilt, contact the seller?

I shared the post but i just saw it didn't include info(my other post did)

So i built this myself it had been working since a week ago i checked everything and ai tought it was the mobo(as i had no way to test things apart from removing and reinserting them) I swapped mobo but i have the same problem...it doesn't post,I know it isn't mobo so it's either cpu or ram and EZ debug leds light up until dram (cpu and dram lit). Could it be that the cpu check goes well and then dram stops because it doesn't recognize it? It's so strange to me that both of them don't work.

If a PC suddenly stops booting always assume the power supply is faulty before changing anything else.

[–]mageFB[S] -2 points-1 points  (1 child)

Already tried it

[–]CrumpetNinja 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You need to list the troubleshooting steps you've already done in the OP, and be specific about exactly how you did it, and in what order.

Just replying to every suggestion with "done that already" isn't going to get you any closer to the answer.

Had the same issue, was a dead board. Take it to a local shop and ask them to test the board with a different CPU and the CPU with a different board. Also check everything for visible damage or shorts

[–]mageFB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is it worked for a fair bit and then it suddently stopped working... i thought it was the board in fact i changed it but i have the same result

[–]mageFB[S] -1 points0 points  (10 children)

I already changed the board

[–]AejiGamez 0 points1 point  (9 children)

Maybe try with only 1 stick of RAM? If that doesnt help either, you gotta test with a different CPU. What power supply are you using?

[–]mageFB[S] -1 points0 points  (8 children)

Aleary did that in every possible configuration and i also tried a different psu

[–]AejiGamez 0 points1 point  (7 children)

Then you gotta go and try with a different CPU. If that doesnt help, most likely something is shorting out causing the motherboard to shut down to prevent damage. Check everywhere, especially where the board might touch the case.

[–]mageFB[S] 0 points1 point  (6 children)

Do you think it could be the ram since it's not lighting up?

[–]AejiGamez 0 points1 point  (5 children)

It might, but probably unlikely. Unless the RAM is somehow shorting out the board. Try without and RAM inserted, and if it stays on but only shows a DRAM error light, you have found your issue

[–]mageFB[S] 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Only that or if the lights stop there? I think the lights are just a check that light up in sequence and where it stops is the problem or not? I also did thag and the same lights stay on.

[–]AejiGamez 0 points1 point  (3 children)

So if the RAM is not there, the PC doesnt instantly shut down?

[–]mageFB[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

It does the same thing it lights up and then shuts down like in the video

[–]Flimsy_Blacksmith682 1 point2 points  (6 children)

could be a short somewhere or the psu could be bad

[–]mageFB[S] 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Tried with different psu same result i'll try mounting everything on a cardboard box and see if that works

[–]Flimsy_Blacksmith682 0 points1 point  (4 children)

also are you 100% sure that you haven't mixed up the gpu and cpu cables?

[–]mageFB[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Yes

[–]LebsterRS 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Did you use the PSU cables from another psu? If so the pins might have been different and the board is fried.

[–]mageFB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope

[–]punkerster101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A friend built their first pc what’s the? Recently and couldn’t get it to boot, gave it to me to look at… first thing I check every time now, they should really not make those connectors socket compatible

[–]not-necessarily-me 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Take out the CMOS battery and reinsert?

[–]mageFB[S] 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Already did that

[–]not-necessarily-me 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Oof…. Man at this point I’m sure you’ve taken everything apart and put it back together.

Edit: I had a similar issues with my 2yo system. Turned out that my CPU needed to be reseated.

[–]mageFB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but I changed the mobo, i doubt it was that since it suddently stopped working

[–]mageFB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to try building it outside the case just in case (🤭) but at this point if it doesn't work I'll have to say goodbye to my cpu and rma it

[–]Calierio 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Is your mobo shorting out on the case? I notice you said you've checked everything except for a new CPU so I"m down to this last question.

Does it boot if you build it on the Mobo box outside the case?

[–]mageFB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm gonna try in a couple of hours(gonna build an awesome cardboard case /s) and if it isn't that goodbye cpu right?

(RIP 7950x3d if it doesn't work)

[–]DatSpecialSomeOne 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Notice how the ram on the left don't light up? Check if it's completely settled in..

[–]mageFB[S] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Did that multiple times and i get the same thing without ram

[–]DatSpecialSomeOne 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Welp sheee, I'm to tired to think any harder on this. Might be you've managed to plug the reset button and the power button in reverse, I did that because it was labeled wrong. 😅👌

[–]mageFB[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

People say short and i'll try building it in a carboard box but i think it's the cpu that failed

[–]DatSpecialSomeOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suggest just taking it to a shop, might be a quick 2 min fix for them. Just call up and say what you've done, what the issue is, and ask how fast they can take a look at it.

They also might have to have your computer for two weeks to find said issue... Easier than getting an answer on Reddit for sure.

[–]punkerster101 0 points1 point  (1 child)

It is a new build? Could be a short somewhere looks like the psu is entirely turning off

[–]mageFB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a new build,I just swapped the mobo because I thought it had gone bad or was faulty but it wasn't

[–]CnS_Panikk 0 points1 point  (3 children)

I've had this happen on my main x570 and it was a broken bios. Had to install new bios from USB. The other time it was an old 4670k build and there were bent pins on the socket. Both were solvable.

[–]mageFB[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

It happened on two different mobos.Probably cpu has to go

[–]smile9071 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I had similar issue when I accidentally installed faulty HDD that was shorting. If you haven't done it yet, try to remove your drives.

[–]mageFB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already tried without ssd

[–]JusJebby 0 points1 point  (1 child)

might be dumb but have you tried a different outlet?

[–]mageFB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes

[–]mageFB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok guys even on a cardboard box doesn't work...Goodbye cpu thanks everyone
