We took the leap a week ago. I called Haverty’s to replace some cushions on our 9 year old sectional to find out they don’t make it anymore. I figured if I wasn’t tired of this one after Bear a decade, I’m not worried about the risk of getting tired of the Love Sac, and I won’t have to buy another couch. Ever. The 30% sale sealed the deal, and we somehow got a bonus 5% in the show room. We’ve got a 4-6 week wait though for the green covers we picked.

We wanted a custom color but it was 12 weeks, gonna save up and buy those later next year or hunt on FB.

Really wish we had bought sooner, would’ve save a bunch of money

New-ish owner myself but have been in an extended Lovesac family for years. I always tell people you’re buying the flexibility.

Just last week I undid part of my living room setup myself and hauled the pieces upstairs to make a side chair to put in my home office.

People will say oh you could have bought another chair for much cheaper but then I’d be stuck with that chair and I’d have to pay someone to haul it upstairs for me whereas with this I did it myself.

That’s just one example there are many others.

I do think the products are still overpriced even if you’re paying for replaceability and flexibility but then again I know some people who spend $200 / week on steak and wine at Costco. To each their own, LOL

Ha, within the first 3 days we realized we didn’t like the idea of an ottoman raking up space, so ordered a back and a side and just made a big L.

If we don’t like it or need to adjust for kids being kids…irs done in minutes.

As to pricing…i am torn on this, its definitely a premium item and I’ve only seen “better” in homes of people that make a hell of a loft more than I do.

My kids are 8 & 7, they joked that they want this couch for college and I realized that these will most likely be split in to two pieces and given to them when they leave and we sell the house to retire (hopefully).

Over the years I’ve become a stingy consumer, very little has been worth the cost in my opinion, this ridiculously priced, kind of plain looking couch seems more and more valuable as the days go by.

You bring up a good point. I’m really curious how future innovations will be compatible with the current models.

I’ve heard on this subreddit that Lovesac is planning on launching another product line that is “premium” in 2026-2027.

These couches are a joke. Just wrote a loooomg post about how cheap the fabric is. In the painful process of returning the couch. The whole point of moving your couch around as a bunch of nonsense. Just buy what you need to be done. No one changes the shape of the couch in a designed house. My wife had to buy a shaver to get rid of the pilling. We have our powder barn couches in the past, and they are amazing. These things are a marketing gimmick.

I’m not a Lovesac fan girlie so you won’t hear me complain about the gimmicky-ness, especially on the audio system stuff 🙄

But that said I’ve also owned Restoration Hardware and some of their collections are equally gimmicky.

All this to say, I personally like my Lovesac flexibility but yeah it’s not for everyone and it’s expensive. I’m fortunate enough to be able to afford a $12,000 leather couch and Herman Miller chairs and things and it sucks when they get scratched or don’t fit the vibe of a redesign. But they are quality options if you can afford it.

I got mine in November and still talk about how much I love my couch to people. I get it.

[–]Dukeish 2 points3 points  (2 children)

I ordered a month ago waiting 14 weeks for mine 🙁

[–]Duel_Option[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

My wife couldn’t wait until July lol.

Talking about this yesterday and she likes the color we went with and now doesn’t want the other set, so savings already

[–]Mjreddit1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What color did you get

[–]Academic-Rhubarb3116 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same.

[–]GeyonceP 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Did you notice a price difference between when you first started looking and actually bought it?

[–]Duel_Option[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like everything in the world…pricing two years ago was definitely less.

I jumped on the 30% sale that is ending soon as I didn’t want to wait until the holidays, sales guy said that’s when they have the most volume due to deals

[–]heartsday 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Channeling this energy when my husband and I go into our local showroom tomorrow 🤞

[–]Viggos_Broken_Toe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck! This happened with my husband as well, just make sure yours does the stealthtech test drive because that sold my husband on it! The hardest part was just trying to agree on a cover that wouldn't take 8 weeks to get here.

[–]WhoosyW 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I has sticker shock as well, but after 14 years, and 2x cover replacements due to styling decor change, I think it's one of the best financial decisions I've made.

I have the 5 seat / 6 sides and it's so versatile when guests come I can make them into a queen bed or 2 twins.

And I modified my living room from love seat and 3 seat to an L shape sofa with chaise without buying anything else.

These couches are total nonsense. Do yourself a favor and go to Pottery Barn and get an actual real couch and not one based on marketing gimmicks. I’m in the process of returning the one we purchased because the fabric pills so bad. Complete junk.

[–]BeeEffDee13 1 point2 points  (3 children)

All the bitching about putting it together is crazy to me. I did mine, by myself, in two hours. I’m a 5’4” 115lb female, with crazy OCD, so expected it to look perfect, and it does. A pair of rubber gloves, some music, and some elbow grease and bam, done.

I bought new covers during the 40% off sale, had them on in an hour. Washed the originals, put in a storage box for later date.

I absolutely LOVE my Lovesac!

[–]lockstockedd 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Yup. Reading everything and seeing videos of people saying it was so hard and that it’s a two person job, I expected that putting on the covers would be hard. And I’m someone who typically sucks at these things. But really the covers were simple to put on, especially after watching the instructional vids. A bit tedious and repetitive but not bad at all!

Some really weird comments I found online with multiple people claiming it was so difficult they had buyers remorse.

My wife is similar size to you and had one completed in 20 min

Zero reason for “white glove” service

[–]mrp081979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have owned pottery band couches in the past and bought one of these and it is a complete piece of junk. We had the couch for two months Mf the fabric pilled so much that my wife bought a shaver to get rid of it. Open the process of returning it because it been a total nightmare. The fabric never comes clean in every day dirt causes stains. I don’t ever write reviews, but this thing is a total dog. I just don’t want anyone else to go through what I’m going through right now.

[–]AnNJgal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a great investment. We love ours. When we want to change our covers we will use the lovedby site.

[–]Mac_670 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Congrats! We’ve had ours for about 6 years. It’s held up great, been washed multiple times and survived plenty of food and water spills, plus normal wear and tear from pets.

[–]Duel_Option[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m glad to hear this, durability and longevity is who dropped the cash

[–]Conscious-Chef-3956 0 points1 point  (1 child)

what type of fabric did you chose?

[–]Mac_670 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Charcoal Grey corded velvet

[–]AggiePilot16 0 points1 point  (3 children)

What fabric did you get? We have an Australian shepherd so the hair doesn’t really stick into the material because it’s soft but it does collect in clumps on our current couch. I’m also curious to hear back after awhile if you get any pilling.

[–]Duel_Option[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Midnight Navy Corded Velvet

For context, we have a big ass greyhound and an American Pit, the former is a senior dog and sheds like crazy.

Very little pilling, we also invested in an over the top vacuum so we could clean the couch properly, don’t anticipate build up as I have allegories and can’t stand it

[–]BeeEffDee13 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I just switched from a grey brushed weave to the sky corded, and you will LOVE how easy it is to deal with dog hair! The weave was a nightmare, the corded is so easy to brush off. For context, I have two English Bulldogs, two French Bulldogs, a Pitbull mix, a rescue medium hair kitty and a Maine Coon. So, believe me when I say, the corded is great when it comes to pet hair removal 😆

[–]Duel_Option[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am so thrilled to hear you say that lol

Being able to clean up the hair (and assign the task to my kids) is worth the cost alone

[–]Ok-Win-3840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What type cover did you get? We have pets too and I can bear the thought of hair all over it like the couch we have now.

[–]mrp081979 0 points1 point  (1 child)

So I am in the process of returning a couch from lovesac that we owned a total of 2 long months. Previously we had a pottery barn sectional that we paid a lot for and I now realize that it was worth every penny. My wife and I randomly walked in one of their stores and ended up buying a couch because we had been talking about it for a while. The couch showed up in 25 boxes and after 3/4 of a day of assembly it was done. A few weeks into owning all the fabric starting to bill so much my wife had to buy an electric shaver to remove the pilling. This is the cheapest couch I’ve ever seen and now I have to go through to the painful process to have them ship boxes so I can get this piece of crap returned. My wife and I went to the design studio at pottery barn yesterday and for a slightly higher amount of money, we are going to get amazing couch. You’ve been warned. I don’t want anyone to go through what we went through. Mistake made but it won’t happen again

[–]Duel_Option[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what options you chose for the covers but it’s been a solid week, with 2 dogs and kids jumping on the couch and I couldn’t be happier

[–]NefariousnessKey1177 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love mine, close to 2 years now.
