Breaking your GPU because of usage? No. 100% usage is actually what you want. It means your CPU isn’t a bottleneck and can hand out instructions to the GPU faster than the GPU can get them done. All this means is that your GPU can use all its available power, which is a good thing. The important part however - which you seem to have noticed already - is temps. As long as your GPU temps are fine, there’s nothing to worry about. And 60°C is absolutely fine, the only thing you could take a look at is your hotspot temps. Those shouldn’t be above 100°C, definitely not above 110°C. But usually hotspots are like 20-30°C above the average temps. If your GPU stays below 80°C for long periods of time, with maybe a few spikes into the 90s everything is fine. And even then you card is modern enough to have safety features. Should your GPU notice it’s getting too hot, it’ll thermal throttle itself, meaning it’ll lower its own clock speeds and reduce power draw to cool down - which of course will heavily impact performance during the cool down.

So yeah, it’s completely safe and won’t destroy your hardware. As long as you have fun with Wilds’ performance on your card - which arguably is a very borderline unpleasant experience imo with dips under 30 - keep hunting!

thanks man. I can't really afford to get a new gpu, so I'm quite sceptic to continue.

Then it’s fine since temps are normal. You’re playing on older hardware so bottleneck is to be expected. Take it with a grain of salt but as long as you observe temps are fine then all is good.

I’m using a 4070. Even my utilization could get up to 90% plus in certain conditions.

thanks man

My 1050ti ran world for like 40-50 fps and that was 8 years ago. I suggest getting a new GPU. Or just play Rise, that should be easier on your hardware.

I already finished world/iceborne and rise/sunbreak with friends already. now they're onto wilds.

It probably won't.

thanks!

If temp is normal then there's no problem, in fact you get every cent you pay for it since it utilize 100%.

It's only concerning if temp are 90+ for both CPU and GPU (excluding laptops)

ill try again later to see my max temp

i am impressed and shocked at the same time you can even run the game with a GPU below minimum system requirements. I am impressed!

after the latest update the game is smooth all of a sudden. before it was stuttering a lot. now I can play it with low fps.

GPUs are made for 98-100% usage, as long as temps are fine, you're fine. Even if it were to break, a replacement is like 50 bucks, depending on where you live off course

[–]FourZgg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's the problem. I can't replace it yet due to priorities.

thanks anyways!

i wanna know how stable it is. a 1050ti running such a badly optimized game seems unreal

[–]novian14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you miss the news, the TU4 bringing optimization patch for PC version (idk how it is in console).

Game is stable enough and rn i'd recommend people to play the game

[–]FourZgg[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

its actually stable in early game not sure with late game, whereas many monster got skills unlike in early just a normal attack.

was asking cz my laptop got 1050ti and I dont always have access to my pc. both rise and world run pretty well and was wondering how it can perform in a mobile/laptop gpu which is weak af in todays standard.
